THE HERMETIC PRINCIPLE AND THE GLOBAL BRAIN
"The model I have suggested based on the Four Directions-with a mid-line separating two global hemispheres-is consistent with the so-called Hermetic principle: as above, so below. The qualities of the Four Directions point to a number of parallels between the "global brain" of the planet and the human brain. Our two brain hemispheres, right and left, have different functions because they are microcosmic reflections of the Eastern and Western Hemishpheres of the planet (fig. 3.13)."
Global Brain-----------------Human Brain
Western Hemisphere---------Left Hemisphere(analysis and logic)
Eastern Hemisphere----------Right Hemisphere (synthesis and intuition)
Germany--------------------Hypothalamus (central coordination)
Italy------------------------Hypophysis (central coordination)
Nordic countries-------------Epiphysis (light monitoring)
Central Africa---------------Cerebellum (voluntary movement and emotions)
Hawaiian Islands-------------Eyes (vision)
Figure 3.13. Suggested parallels between the global brain and the human brain.
