[/quote] your sciatic nerve is like a onion as you lift and twist you tend to break the outer layers this is a normal progression with age and lifting, unless you bring the load closer to your body the and use your bodies attributes to move load,your manual handling needs attention before you make it to my stage,using suppressants for relief, i have done a grade three strain in my calf muscle and have incurred secondary complaints from that, believe me not comfortable at all.knots occur, and soft tissue damage,as you favor other muscles to do the lifts. i try break falls for falling down direct technic for controlling a fall. Looking unattractive is the least of your worries.
Physical strength particularly in arms and shoulders is a major defense during falls, which become increasingly an issue from 40 yrs onward. It could happen trying to change a light bulb whilst standing on a swivel chair, your strength will reduce the injury to the head from the corner of the table resulting in only a 1 month hospital stay instead of 3.
And where's your emergency reserve protein and minerals?
