Meeker took her doctorate at USC where I was a professor of educational psychology. I am now 80 years old and have not kept up on these areas of expertise for 15 years or so. I worked with the project for 3 months and then had to leave to be a Fulbright Professor at the University of Singapore. Several outstanding specialists on the education of gifted children including Professor Maurice Freeehil of the University of Washington were part of this project. He had written an outstanding book on this topic which is probably available from Amazon used books or a University Library. John Gowan(deceased) also published books on this topic as well as Irving Sato who directed the National Leadershp on MGM for the US office of Education. I think he is retired and living in Pasadena. Irv was the Director of Educational Programs for MGM Mentally Gifted Minors for the Califorania Dept of Education in Sacramento. The current director may be able to guide you to where these curriculum guides can be found. Dr.Meeker is now deceased.Sorry, my typing skills are so feeble. JFM
Thank you for taking the time to chime in. A lot of us are confused about some things because we were kids in these kind of programs. Kids frequently frame experiences differently than an adult's perspective. Toss in a lot of sketchy memories and it can be unsettling when it may not have been intended to be so. I would love to see some curriculum guides so I will see what I can find. Thank you for the tip.
The curriculum guides are online under the ERIC site. http://www.eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/search/recordDetails.jsp?ERICExtSearch_SearchValue_0=ED060586&searchtype=keyword&ERICExtSearch_SearchType_0=no&_pageLabel=RecordDetails&accno=ED060586&_nfls=false&source=ae
Were you ever removed, many times, from your regular class for "testing"?
Were you shown a series of high speed images on a television, not once, but many times?
Was the school psychologist selectively interested in you?
