[quote:The Boss:MV85NjgzMzFfMTUxMTM1NjhfRkMyREQyNjY=] Lands occupied by the less fortunate can and will be wiped off the map to make way for those who have the means to expand. In a few weeks, when plague's break out over the island and goodwill begins to become more restricted as a result, it's going to become a nightmare. I predict up to half of the population of the island could be gone within a year. I don't believe it's going to recover. [/quote]

I served in the United States Army 1990 to 1995. In 1995 I was with the 87th engineer unit based out of Fort Stewart Georgia. We were deployed in March of that year to Haiti.
My unit was put under the command of the UN peacekeeping force in Port-au-Prince Haiti. We got the blue patches and the blue helmets. We served with forces from Canada and even Nepal, believe it or not
My unit was an engineering unit and our mission was to build the camps that the UN peacekeeping troops would live in. That means we were the very first full units to arrive on scene. We work in part with the Green Berets who are already there
The things I saw are simply unimaginable. You cannot explain them in English language. The depth and the breath of the poverty, the staggering destitution, the starving masses, the dead bodies in the street, the chaos, it's not something you can understand.
What you see going on in Haiti right now has been going on there on and off for decades! and tragically the United States government has supported most of the policies that created this mess. I was there I witnessed it
I see so many posts on this site from people who think they know "well why don't they just do XYZ? Stupid Haitians!"
YOU HAVE NO IDEA!
Anyway, go ahead and ask me a question
