[quote:Dr.Walter.Bishop:MV85ODU1MjRfMTYzMzAwOTBfMjNERDQ3RjI=] [quote:Anonymous Coward 936778] Also propylene glycol breaks down into pyruvic acid in the human body which is converted into glucose. Now this might be a problem for diabetics but for everyone else its fine. Ethylene glycol on the other hand turns into oxalic acid which the liver cannot break down and will kill you. The antidote for ethylene glycol poisoning is ethanol though so some everclear will save you from it. It stops your liver from trying to metabolize the glycol and instead your liver metabolizes the ethanol causing the ethylene glycol to be elminated from your body before oxalic acid can be made.
Indeed, kind of ironic how the antidote to antifreeze poisoning is get really blind drunk, LOL. +1 for truth and scientific accuracy. [quote:Anonymous Coward 936778] Anything used on your skin to kill bacteria over a long period of time is a bad idea, you need more good bacteria to keep the bad bacteria in check.
Of course, this is what people need to understand, it is for this reason antibiotics should not be shoved down everybodies throat when they feel under the weather. Most antibiotics are developed from chemicals secreted by fungi, which inhibit kill or stop the growth of bacterial micro organisms, essentially you use one micro-organism to kill another.
Propylene Glycol in baby wipes, especially when used by adults can open up various parts of the body to attacks that mimic Flesh-Eating Bacteria attacks...
Overuse of baby wipes that contain primarily propylene glycol (and that is most of them) may lead to breakdown of the epidermal layers on the area of overuse, opening the body up to flesh-wasting that mimics flesh-eating bacteria.
Doctors, please consider this and follow up.
