Casey Anthony - Cold and Calculated

Pathological Liars

In 2008, the Anthony family was thrust into the national spotlight after it had been reported that Casey Anthony had allowed a full month of time to go by without reporting her almost 3-year old daughter, Caylee, missing.

A closer look at the family that was more concerned over gas cans missing, rather than a 3-year old child, will reveal a sick and twisted cast of characters that are more frightening than anything you can possibly imagine.

Cindy Anthony, the grandmother of Caylee, and mother of sociopath Casey. Cindy is a nurse whose eyes are dark and look ready to pop out of her head and land right onto your dinner plate. Her stories seem to change more than her daughter's. Her husband, George, has had several jobs but, appears to be mostly unemployed. Rumors of his infidelity are rampant. The two also share a son named Lee. Lee appears to be the closest to normal, often playing the role of a mediator between his mom and sister Casey. His annoying inappropriate laughter tends to make one question just how “normal” he truly is.

Casey Marie Anthony is George and Cindy's daughter. Casey gave birth to her daughter Caylee on August 9th of 2005. Caylee is a spelling for a name that combines "Casey" with the name, "Lee." No one knows who the child's father is (DNA tests rule out Lee as the father, as that was a rumor set forth early on in this case). The stories are mostly consistent with Casey, telling everyone the child was the result of a one-night stand, from a guy who is now dead. Of course, this story was not known until after she had tried to pin a boy by the name of Jesse Grund as the father. As with many things in Casey's life, if she is caught in a lie, the story simply changes but, that doesn't mean it changes to the actual truth or, does it?

Jesse took the initiative to receive a paternity test that resulted in a negative - a 100 percent negative chance of him being the parent. He remained with Casey however, and tried to treat little Caylee as his own. He even proposed marriage to Casey, who accepted. The union soon dissolved.

The drama for the Anthony's begins after a frantic phone call made to 911 on the 15th of July, in 2008, by Cindy Anthony. The original call was concerning her stolen car and money because, monetary things are much more important than a missing child to the Anthony family. About an hour later, Cindy placed another phone call to the police, finally complaining about her missing granddaughter, claiming Casey had told her the baby girl had been kidnapped by a nanny and, that her car, that she was just able to get out of impound, smelled like a “dead body.” The operator talked to both Cindy and Casey. Casey originally didn't even want to talk to the police but, reluctantly gave the operator a name for the nanny - Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.

When the police arrive, the family members are separated from Casey and all are questioned. Casey tells police that her daughter has been missing since the date of June 9th. She claims that she dropped Caylee off with the nanny earlier that day, the 9th of June, at Sawgrass apartments, but when she arrived to pick Caylee up, there was no answer at the door and, the phone number for Zenaida no longer worked. Of course, like any concerned parent, she simply goes over to her boyfriend's house, to feel safe. Yes, this is the story given.

After some time of questioning the Anthony's and going through their computers, police discover a photo of Caylee taken on June 15th. This was Father's Day and, Cindy had taken Caylee for a trip to see her father that day. The new date of Caylee's disappearance is June 16, 2008. George now claims he saw both Caylee and Casey leave that morning.

Everything that Casey told the police concerning her missing child has been found to be an absolute lie. She told them she was an employee of Universal. She even led the police there to show them her office, going so far as to walk them down a hallway before finally turning around to the officers and admitting that she didn't work there. It's later discovered that Casey hasn't been employed for two years.

The police found a few Zenaida’s however, the closest in proximity to Casey was a woman who happened to have been at Sawgrass apartments, June 15th. She had requested information about a 2 bedroom apartment but, never actually took the place. She did sign a card at the office, which is how the police found her. When she was questioned, she had no idea who Casey was, nor her daughter Caylee.

Casey said she was looking for her daughter herself but, even according to her, she only told two other people about Caylee going missing. One was a Jeff Hopkins and the other a Juliette Lewis. Neither of these people exists. There is a Jeff Hopkins that is a friend of her brothers but, he has no connection with the case. She claims Jeff had a son named Zach and, that Jeff introduced Zenaida to Casey but, that story didn't pan out either. She may have had a friend years ago named Juliette but, no Juliette Lewis, except for the one that lives in California and is a celebrity.

Casey claimed that Caylee had actually called her the night before, July 15th, (by the time Casey is officially questioned and makes her statement, it’s in the early hours of the 16th), and when she asked her daughter to put an adult on the phone, the phone hung up. Casey says this came from a private number, around noon that day. When the police ask her about all these calls and, ask her about where a number is for Zenaida, Jeff, Juliette, etc., Casey attempts to concoct some outrageous story about how she had another work phone (remember she doesn't have a job), that doesn't hold a charge and, there's a SIM card in there and the numbers aren't stored on the phone? Oh, but she reported that the phone was damaged and then, later missing. She didn't report her daughter missing though. Phone records indicate no such call was made. There are no contact numbers for a Zenaida.

Casey said she was doing her own investigation. Pictures of her surfaced that were taken during this "investigation time" that shows Casey partying at a nightclub known as Fusian. Casey says she went to clubs and restaurants for the purposes of speaking with people who knew Zenaida. Casey wanted to track down her whereabouts. No one has ever come forward saying that Casey approached them about looking for a Zenaida. In fact, no one has even heard about Zenaida . Some of her friends claim they heard her speak about having a nanny for Caylee, and some have heard the name Zanny but, only from about the 16th of Jun on and, not before. There is an IM between her and Anthony Rusciano (one of Casey’s love interests), whose screen name is nyitaliano3, that mentions a “Zani” on May 6. 2008. No one has ever met Zanny. No one has ever talked to her on the phone except for Casey, who has no phone records, no emails, no text messages, nothing to prove the woman exists.

Cindy has gone on record saying she’s heard Zanny’s name come up in conversation for about 2 years but, testimony from others say otherwise. Lee states that when Casey said something about a Zanny, there was no recollection of who Zanny was from his mom. There was a point when friends had gone over to the Anthony’s to work out a time line and they say that Cindy had no idea who this Zanny was.

When police ask Casey where she left Caylee, she takes them to an apartment at Sawgrass, number 210. It is later discovered the apartment had been empty for months. They ask where else Zenaida may be, she takes them to a place that turns out to be an elder care facility. She also took them to some condos where she claims that Zenaida’s mother, Gloria, lives. No one there knows Zenaida or her mother. An interesting note: Casey claims Zenaida’s father’s name is Victor. Victor and Gloria are characters from a soap opera, Young and the Restless (thank you, youtube comments). It is revealed later on in jailhouse letters that Casey does indeed watch Young and the Restless . When Casey mentions this information to her mother, during a jail house visit, she first says that Victor could be Zenaida’s step father or, her real dad, she’s not sure. Then, almost immediately after, she states with certainty, that he adopted her. Cindy doesn’t catch this in the exchange at all. Nothing adds up and the police are forced to take a closer look at Casey and what she was doing during the time Caylee was gone. What they found out was that she stayed with her boyfriend and, went out, and had fun. There is nothing indicating that she even bothered to look for her daughter during this time.

During all of her questioning, Casey remained stoic and uninterested in providing the authorities with any valuable information that might help find her daughter. No tears are shed. She simply acted like there was nothing wrong. She further digs her heels into the ground insisting that the last person she “dropped” her daughter with was Zenaida.

Police grill her during an initial interview, insisting that they know she is lying to them. They tell her that she is making herself look like a monster by not being forthcoming. Instead of breaking down, Casey is cold and calculated. She tells them that she is going about things in a “backwards sort of way,” and repeats that phrase during questioning. It sounds almost cryptic.

While her daughter was missing, her friend Amy Huizenga had left town, and allowed for Casey to use her car. Casey had told her friends that her car was being repaired but, actually she had abandoned it at Amsco, claiming it ran out of gas. All around that area are gas stations but, instead of getting gas, she allowed the car to sit there and be towed. Amy didn't know this so, she said that Casey could use her car while she was away. Casey used the car, she also went into the glove compartment and stole Amy's checks, wiping her account clean over the week Amy was gone. Casey bought underwear, some clothes, beer, etc., all from Target but, didn't bother to purchase anything for her little girl.

On July 3rd, Casey went to a tattoo parlor and had the words, “Bella Vita” marked on her shoulder. That stands for “The beautiful life” in Italian. She also had her nails done during this time.

Most people who first heard this story had great empathy for George and Cindy. They both appeared to be cooperative but, as the months went by, more information was released, and their behavior was exposed, that initial compassion for the Anthony's quickly faded.

Cindy originally stated that the car smelled like a dead body. George also made a statement to the police, initially, that decomposition is a smell you don't forget and, that's what the car smelled like. Later, these two decided to change their story. First Cindy said that she was just saying whatever she could to get the police out to her house and, then said it was pizza with maggots that were in the trunk. Well, most people know that trash does smell but, pizza? Pizza just dries out, it smells like pizza. Watch a news report on the pizza experiment.

Covering Up

For whatever reason, the Anthony's went from being cooperative to going along with the conspiracy theories that their daughter wanted them to believe. Their visits to Casey in jail show that the parents are almost frightened of their own daughter. Casey yells at them, makes angry faces and gestures, she cries to them about how her life has been taken away from her. She doesn't cry over her daughter, she simply cries because she's in jail and they haven't been able to bail her out.

Cindy and George barely ask her any questions. The second they try to get some answers from her, she becomes irate, insisting she doesn't know anything but, that she feels Caylee is close.

Cindy tells the police and FBI that Jesse Grund or Amy Huizenga have Caylee. She insinuates that “Zanny” is a name for any babysitter and, her daughter may be trying to tell her that Amy is the real Zanny. Of course, everyone else in this case is lying but, Casey. Cindy absolutely refuses to question her daughter’s actions or behavior. She tells the media that the police had just made up their minds on her daughter, and complained that they didn't do anything to find Caylee but, it was her daughter that had them running around chasing their tails over lies that Casey told them. Cindy never once blames her daughter for bringing that upon herself.

Caylee was indeed very close, just like Casey said. Her body was found in December, less than a mile from the Anthony home.

The Zenaida Gonzalez that was questioned by the police ran into a lot of issues. Her character was slandered because her name was brought up in this case. She went and filed a court case to clear her name so that it would be on record. The Anthony's were called to complete a deposition.

It is during these depositions that the public got a bird's eye view of the sickness and pathological lying that the Anthony family participates in. I think Cindy went above and beyond to show just how and why Casey is the way she is.

One of the most ridiculous things Cindy said during the deposition had to do with Zanny the nanny. She stated that her daughter didn't make that name up but, had used that name for quite some time. She also said that Casey had given her phone numbers of Zanieda. If that's true, why didn’t Cindy call the numbers that Casey gave her for Zanaida? When Cindy got together with Casey's friends, why did she never make any mention to anyone there that she heard of a Zanny or a Zanaida before? In fact, even Lee says that Cindy had no idea of who that was when Casey first mentioned it. Cindy lied. She had no numbers or addresses for Zenaida.

Cindy and George both are extremely argumentative during their depositions. Lee is just annoying and, laughed quite a bit during his. Cindy did not want to answer many questions at all. She kept asking the relevance and, being quite rude about it. Everything was about them and how they are feeling, and what they are going through. They are very selfish people, who seem to embellish playing the role of the victim. They kept insisting they feel sorry for the Zanaida that got involved in the case but, for some reason, in their heads they believed all they needed to do was come and say, "no, that's not her" and be done with it.

Cindy, George, and Lee have all stated they believe Casey was being coerced into lying to the police. They are convinced that she was scared and, if she went to the police, Zanaida would harm either Caylee or someone else in the family.

I’m not sure if police were bluffing or not but, they told Casey that the Sawgrass apartments video show she was never there, dropping off Caylee. True to sociopath form, Casey changed her story. She now claims that Zanaida had met her at Blanchard Park and, held Casey's arm or, pushed her down and, told her that she was going to teach Casey a “lesson,” then took Caylee with the help of her sister. Of course, she didn't fight back or scream. She just allowed her daughter to be kidnapped.

So now that we know Caylee is dead. Casey has no one to protect now, so why is she still not talking? Sure, we can all understand a mother doing whatever they need to protect their child but, George, Cindy, and Lee can be protected by the police while Casey tells law enforcement what really happened because, if this person exists, there's nothing else they can do. Caylee has passed away. Of course this logic would never occur to the Anthony's. Cindy actually stated at the recent hearing, concerning the death penalty for Casey, she thinks that Caylee is still alive.

When Cindy and George picked up their car from the impound, Cindy had decided to find her daughter. She wanted to know where Caylee was. Sometime around the beginning of July, Cindy posted on her My Space account a sad letter that showed great concern over where Caylee was and who was watching her. She says at the deposition however, that she had no concern over Caylee or Casey all they way until the 15th of July.

Cindy says she found Amy Huzienga's number in Casey's car on a resume and, called her asking if Amy knew where Casey was. Amy had just seen Casey and was at the Florida mall. Cindy offered to come get her, if Amy would take her to her daughter. Amy agreed for Cindy to pick her up and led Cindy over to Casey's new boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro's apartment. During the car trip, Amy had discovered that Casey had lied about several things. First, there was an odd story that Casey told to Amy concerning her home. Casey had told Amy that her parents were getting a divorce and that; Cindy was going to be signing over the house to Casey. She had asked for Amy to move in, only to tell her later that her mom and dad were staying together and she wasn't getting the house. All of that turned out to not be true. One has to wonder what the purpose of that lie was. Casey also told her that George had a mild stroke. Another meaningless lie.

Another thing that Cindy told Amy was that she didn't think Casey had a job. Yet, she tells everyone else she thought Casey was indeed working at Universal. Now, her story has changed to Casey didn't work for Universal, she worked for Kodak or Colorvision, trying to pass off Casey as having a job. In fact, the many pictures of Casey in her blue dress that were released to the media, the ones taken while Caylee was missing, Cindy claims Casey was paid to take those photos and that she was paid for working that evening at the club. That's odd because, Cindy and Casey said before she was out looking for Zanaida.

There was an incident that occurred in June where, Casey had taken Cindy's car out and, George had decided to follow her. Casey had lost him on the freeway. George originally described this event to later change the story, saying he was wrong about his dates; it actually happened in April.

In July, George Anthony had contacted police over gas cans that were taken from his shed that was broken into. When Casey was at the house, he had wanted to get a tire iron from the back of her car, Casey got angry, moved quickly passed him, opened her truck and said, "Here's your *explicative* gas cans!" George Anthony now downplays this. I guess because, he now knows that little girl was dead in the back of that car.

The Anthony's love their daughter. I don't think anyone can blame them for wanting to stand by her and give her the support a parent should give their child but, they have turned. They have chosen, not just to show support and love for their daughter but, to lie for her and, they're doing this at the expense of justice for that little granddaughter of theirs. It seems no one in this immediately family is a voice for Caylee. Loving your daughter is about being truthful and, not lying for them.

The Anthony's have continued to point fingers at everyone but their daughter. They have stalled and have done their own share of obstruction when it comes to justice for their grandchild. It's time for charges to be filled against them as well. Perhaps when they are to testify at Casey's trial, no more of their lies will be tolerated.

Never Underestimate a Sociopath

The biggest question is why? What really happened to drive Casey to murdering her own child? Taking a hard, close look at this case reveals startling information, the stuff that makes one’s skin crawl. It seems there may be some truth to what Casey has told authorities. Remember that she says to authorities and to her family that, they are misconstruing what she is saying, that she is going about giving them information in a “backwards sort of way.” This was NO accident. She leaves clues all over the place. They are creepy, calculated, and bone chilling. Casey had planned this for quite some time.

Never underestimate a sociopath.

First, we find that computer searches on the Anthony’s computer show someone searching as far back as March of 2008. These searches included key words for: chloraform, chloroform, how to make chloroform, household weapons, inhalation, making weapons out of household products, chloroformhabit, death, shovel, acetone, peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, and alcohol.

What about the people that we know do not exist? Or, do they? She mentions a Juliette Lewis. There is no Juliette Lewis at Universal but, there is an actress that was in a once huge, famous hit movie called, Natural Born Killers .

Who is Jeff Hopkins and his son Zach? We know Lee has a friend named Jeff Hopkins and he knows Casey but, not well. It turns out that she did have his number on her phone and, she actually called his parents’ house before she was arrested for reasons unknown but, he has no son. I did find an actor that was named Zach Hopkins. Who is this? Well, it turns out that Zach is not a toddler but, he does appear in a video that was released June 14th in honor of Father’s Day. This video was produced by BlueFishTV.

You can watch this video at this link.

Yes, a “duct tape” instructional video. According to the link provided, many of these videos are filmed at Universal and Walt Disney World Resorts. Did Casey know about the production of this video before hand?

Let’s move on…

The following theory comes from a site called, Scared Monkeys. You can read their full article here.

Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez. Remember that Casey is very insistent that she last “dropped” Caylee off with Zenaida. She says this as if she really believes this to be true. Is it? Let’s take a look at where Caylee was found. The area is just down the road from the Anthony’s. Phone pings show that Casey was in this area around the approximate time it is believed Caylee’s body was left at the site. It also appears that she continued to return near this area all the way up until her arrest.

Caylee’s remains were found off of Suburban Drive. The adjacent street is the same street the Anthony’s live on, which is Hopespring. The remains of Caylee were found on the back lots of 4701 Hopespring and 4709 Hopespring.

Who lives at these addresses? A white page reverse look up shows that at 4701 Hopespring a Fredesvind Gonzalez resides there. 4709 Hopespring reveals a Zenaida Almodovar occupying that home.

Bone Chilling

Now, going back over what Casey told the police in her handwritten statement:

“On Monday, June 9th 2008 , between 9 AM and 1 PM , I, Casey Anthony...” Later, in her statement, she states that she left work around 5 PM, which is much more specific. Between 9 and 1 is a huge span of time. Look at the address above. 4709 – Zenaida, 4701 – Gonalez. She left Caylee between 9 and 1 with Zenaida Gonzalez, just like she said she did.

On a side note, if this theory is true, which I believe it to be, that poor woman, Zenaida Gonzalez was so unfortunate to have her name and show up at Sawgrass to view an apartment. I don’t think Casey got her name from there however, because no one at the apartment office recognized Casey. She would have had to have been in that office in order to obtain that name from that source.

Now, listen to what she told Lee. Listen very closely.

“She’s close to hoPe.” She was. She was right off of Hopespring.

What about when Casey tells Lee that her Myspace and Facebook passwords are clues? She first tells Lee, her password for both accounts is, “Cays234.” Later, when her mom came to visit with her dad, she says that the password for both accounts is “Timer55.”

Casey's Cryptic Passwords

Cindy figured out that Timer55 has to do with the number of days that are between Caylee’s disappearance, June 16th, and Caylee’s birthday, August 9th. This appears to make sense because, Casey had made mention that Zanny would return Casey on her 3rd birthday, when she changed her story to Zenaida taking her from Casey at Blanchard Park.

What about Cays234?

The following theory is of my own entirely. I haven’t found anyone that has come up with this however, there is literally so much information out there about this case so, and it is quite possible that I am not the originator of this theory.

One thing that Casey always seems to reference is Caylee’s 3rd birthday. She mentions it twice in her written statement, right at the very beginning. It was an odd repetition. You can view her statement from the document discovery links that I provide below.

I found out that the approximate address of the site Caylee was found has been estimated, going by grid numbers, would be 8905 Suburban Dr, Orlando, FL 32829. If you do a quick Google map search of that address, you will see the location. This is just an estimate of what it would be, if in fact a house were located there. 8/9/05 is Caylee’s date of birth.

So, again, here we see she left Caylee between 9 and 1 with Zenaida Gonzalez, on her 3rd birthday. Literally.

So, we have THREE numbers from THREE addresses. 4709, 4701, and 8905, or 8/9/05 from Caylee’s birthday.

4 + 7 + 0 + 9 = 20 = 2 + 0 = 2

4 + 7 + 0 + 1 = 12 = 1 + 2 = 3

8 + 9 + 0 + 5 = 22 = 2 + 2 = 4

The 4709 has to come first because she says, between 9 and 1, then she talks about Caylee’s birthday.

“Cays” is Casey’s nickname for Caylee. I found this in her jailhouse writings. So, "Cays234" shows that the first part, she is giving Caylee’s name plus the numbers from all three addresses or, the two addresses and, Caylee’s birthday.

Again, Casey mentions Caylee’s third birthday several times. On July 3rd, Casey gets a tattoo that says, “Bella Vita.”

Number 3

There are 3 stars that surround the words which translate to “Beautiful Life.”

Caylee missing 06/16/08.

6 + 1 + 6 + 0 + 8 = 21 = 2 + 1 = 3

Apartment 210 = 2 + 1 + 0 = 3

Casey says Caylee talked to her on 07/15/08.

7 + 1 + 5 + 0 + 8 = 21 = 2 + 1 = 3

Casey said the call occurred around noon. 12:00 = 1 + 2 = 3

Of course, the last date she claims to have talked with Casey could be just a coincidence because, it's hard to imagine her planning that out. It's not plausible that she knew when her mom was going to catch her and bring her back home. It just happens to be that day?

Same with the coincidence that 3 - 911 calls were made. No real way of knowing that was going to happen but, interesting none the less.

It is also stated that the number three shows up again concerning the location of where Caylee was found. It was as if Casey was trying to “mark the spot." Supposedly, there were 3 pavers that were located near or around the location of the remains. The Anthony’s also have pavers and it is said that Casey may have borrowed the shovel from the neighbor to dig up 3 pavers.

For more details on this, please read from this site.

Lots of people have written about this and, I am still looking for more information concerning this.

Another question about what Casey said to authorities:

Casey makes lots of references to New York and North Carolina. Supposedly, Zenaida and Jeff have both lived in both of these locations. I have no idea what she is trying to convey here. Both states are two words beginning with “N.” Is there something more to this? I’m not sure but, I find it very odd that she mentions it several times.

Absolutely disturbing.

A Closer Look at the Names

Let’s take a look at the oddity of the names that Casey had given police and, see if there is any meaning to them.

The 3rd letters are N, C, F, and L.

Or, we have:

ZaNaida watches

ZaCh

JeFf

JuLiet the two people that Casey told Caylee went missing

ZaNy was watching

CaYlee

Now we can see, the NC, FL, and NY.

I'm not sure but, I find these names to be odd. Perhaps there's something else here. Either way, I believe it's clear that she thinks this is a big game. I also believe she did this in order to be able to ensure that she could pass a lie detector test. In her mind, she is telling the truth, "in a backwards sort of way."

*Casey actually gave a different spelling of "Juliet."
