Note: Never mix medications without a doctor's permission.
It is not uncommon for people to take Adderall during the day for their ADHD symptoms and to take Ambien at night to combat the insomnia that frequently occurs with ADHD.
Whether you are taking Ambien while on Adderall or not, the FDA issued a warning in 2007 regarding the strange side effects that can be produced by Ambien.
A review of the reports on Ambien show that it can cause strange behavior such as sleepwalking sleep-driving, sleep-cooking, and a variety of other behaviors while the person taking it is in a twilight zone somewhere between sleep and wakefulness. Although appearing awake, the people who have experienced these behaviors are not conscious of their behavior. When these behaviors have occurred, Ambien also causes amnesia which causes the people who experienced these behaviors to remember nothing they had done.
In quite a number of cases, people on Ambien have shown symptoms almost identical to DWI and have been stopped by police for DWI while not intoxicated by alcohol but, instead, by Ambien. In one case regarding Ambien, a woman reported that she awoke alone in a hotel room, which was located two hours from her house, without any recollection of driving there.
More Information:
Ambien is an anti-convulsant and muscle relaxer, also used as a sleep aid. I have ADHD and take both medications and they work harmoniously for what they are specifically designed for.
Adderall is specifically designed for a specific purpose for patients with specific physiological needs. If there are more detailed questions regarding using both in conjunction with one another the best course of action is to consult a physician, preferably a psychiatrist since this is their area of expertise.
I have done it a thousand times even ambian and alcohol and im still alive... i would not suggest taking ambian with any other depressent unless specified by a doc... but ambian and Tylenol are two completely different drugs so its ok together.. now some people use Tylenol to cure a hang over.. not a good idea we all know that alcohol affects the liver and so does Tylenol after drinking too much alcohol would it not be wise to give your poor old liver a brake take advil insead any ibprophen will do... by the way sorry about the spelling im dislexic.. seriously
NO. Unless you are trying to kill yourself. Ambien and alcohol is an extremely dangerous combination and you can ingest a lethal dose before you ever feel the effects of either drug. Death can occur from one Ambien and a couple beers or shots. The depressive quality of Ambien on your respiratory system is multiplied with alcohol use. Using the two together is really a gamble with your life.
It's fairly obvious that you weren't prescribed one of the two medications, because your doctor would have told you about interactions, and if so, how much time is needed between your Ativan and Ambien. Unless you're unable to understand the most basic of concepts, you're taking Ambien nightly and want to take someone else's Ativan for either anxiety or a good high, but don't know if the two interact. You could also be taking Ativan nightly for anxiety and still can't sleep, so you want to take someone else's Ambien. Either way, it's illegal and the person giving it to you is an idiot. I'm putting my money on the former, and even more money that you're a teenager (13-14) legally taking Ambien who got some fun drugs from your buddy, but have no idea what a pharmacist does because your parents go to the pharmacy for you.
Do you really think anyone would believe your story? That...
You're an adult and have been prescribed medicine by a doctor.
You fill the prescriptions at a pharmacy.
You're afraid that your doctor is irresponsible and prescribed you two nightly drugs that interact without telling you.
You don't have the intelligence to ask the irresponsible, probably illegally practicing doctor if the two nightly drugs he has prescribed you interact.
You don't know that a pharmacist has to memorize drug interactions.
I don't like it when a kid dies of pure foolishness, so here's some advice:
Don't trust the uneducated people here to answer a drug interaction question. In case your mommy and daddy haven't told you, you can call ANY pharmacy and ask the pharmacist your question. They'll tell you if the two drugs interact free of charge. Here's the number of a 24 pharmacy in Santa Monica: 310-828-6456. The pharmacists there are not only knowledgeable, but have access to a database that lists all drug interactions. If you're afraid of them finding out you're calling a pharmacy to help you get high, respond to this and I'll call for you and post the answer.
How could you even think of putting your life in the hands of this website, let alone breaking the law by taking medication that hasn't been prescribed to you?
Good luck. With the decisions you're making, you're really going to need it.
I'll let you know in the morning!
Can you or Should you? Can you = apparently you can, because I do. I mix 1 ambien and 1 unisom every night and I'm not dead yet. Should you? Probably not. I'm sure it's not the best idea, but obviously it can be done...
All depends....when u take ur Valium and ambien, if u take both together youll be very relaxed and maybe probably sleep, i used to mix my cklonazepam with Zopiclone:D
Yes, you can, but in very low doses. Im actually on both right now and i feel like i could fall asleep all night. with out any problems.
No.
OTC sleep aids can be any of a number of products, and only your doctor can correctly advise you. Your doctor should also know that the ambien is not providing the relief you need.
Yes, it is perfectly safe to use Remeron with hypnotics or anxiolytics.
sounds like a trick question
You can have seizures
Yes, there isn't a problem with mixing these at all. The only thing you shouldn't mix with ambien is alcohol.
Yes it is. (:
Adderall lasts for like 6-8 hrs, so anytime after that's good. The Ambien can actually help you come off the Adderall and get to sleep (obvi :]). Of course, if you wanna have some fun, someone who isn't me ;) finds that taking them together is rather exquisite.
yes, it works well together.
Yes, you can mix Adderall and Valium, in fact, many physicians prescribe this combination.
I take adderall 60 mg, 30 in the morn and 30 about 1pm and trazadone 100mg at night
Yes, I've been on both for about 3 years.
I hope you don't mean you want to snort adderall, that just wouldn't work. Also I don't think you should take an allergy medication with adderall, the adderall (taken orally of course) will clear up your sinus anyway (at least for most people it does.
I'm no doctor but it sounds like a bad idea to me.
You really shouldn't be on a prescription for Adderall and Xanax at the same time. It's possible that Adderall could potentiate the effects of the xanax. That means that if you mix them, you normal dose of Xanax could knock you out. It also depends on if you are taking Adderall because you have been diagnosed with ADD. The effects of Adderall are different for people who do not have ADD.
