A local sailor was found dead Friday aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise in the Middle East.
Master Chief Petty Officer Richard Kessler Jr. died in his berthing compartment aboard the nuclear-powered Naval aircraft carrier.
Officials have not said how Kessler died.
The 47-year-old Gulfport man was a logistics specialist deployed to the Fifth Fleet.
The Enterprise is supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
