Moldova’s Coordination Council on Television and Radio (CCA) has banned the Russian channel Rossiya 24 permanently.
In a statement, it says that the stations Prime, TV7, Ren Moldova, RTR Moldova and Rossija 24 have constantly distorted facts and manipulated public opinion in reporting stories covering the situation in Ukraine.
Their news and current affairs programmes have contained manipulative propaganda messages, causing incitement to hatred and ethnic strife with aggressive language.
This, it adds, ran counter to national and international standards in the field of broadcasting.
The CCA also says that it appreciated TV7 renounced the news and current affairs programmes it had retransmitted for Russia.
It was punished with a minimum fine, while Prime, Ren Moldova and RTR Moldova were hit by the maximum and Rossiya 24 banned.
