Water Base Boiling Point Calculator

This calculator requires the use of Javascript enabled and capable browsers. This calculator takes does NOT take altitude into consideration in the boiling point temperature of water as is differentiated from the atmospheric pressure involved in this calculation. Our altitude based calculator does. At a standard barometric pressure of 29.92 inches of mercury, and an altitude of sea level (SL), water boils at about 212°F. These are the default values in our calculator. Change the barometric pressure to the value appropriate for your area and click on Calculate. The boiling point of water will be shown as a result. If you don't know your current barometric pressure, you can get a close guess from the current weather news on your local TV or radio broadcast. Another option is to find it at the Weather Channel. They use your ZIP code to determine the closest current barometric pressure data. You may enter data in either of the pressure fields and the conversion will be made. The actual calculations are done on inches of mercury. You may also wish to see our pressure corrected calculator, using a similar but older formula for calculation; differences can occur in the second and third decimal places, though they are slight.
