Amazing how much outrage people have over actual citizens receiving some benefits from the government.

Where is this outrage over the money spent on wars and corporate bailouts?

Ridiculous for those out there concerned about the debt at this point. The debt level has gone so far over the edge that $10 billion is completely meaningless. I would suggest those that think they are righteous by tossing AMERICANs into the street cause they can't find a job -- whether they would want one or not -- rethink the current state of affairs.

The debt is completely meaningless. It will never be paid and the government will never stop spending it on stupid things -- so, I say, first comes our neighbor - you don't take away from the neighbor in times of economic depression.

Are you stupid? Think of the harm it will cause and believe me, it will reach you. Blood in the streets, people, blood in the streets.

Re: Jim Bunning is one of new heroes! BLOCKS UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION A SECOND TIME!
Washington — A retiring Republican senator on Tuesday again blocked the U.S. Senate from extending unemployment benefits and health insurance subsidies for the jobless.
Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky., takes part in a recent Senate Banking Committee hearing. Bunning on Tuesday again blocked the Senate from federal money for unemployment benefits, health insurance subsidies and transportation programs.

Sen. Jim Bunning objected to a request by Sen. Susan Collins, a fellow Republican, to pass a 30-day extension of jobless benefits and other expired measures, including transportation programs.

Bunning has been single-handedly blocking the stopgap legislation since Thursday, to the increasing discomfort of Republicans such as Collins. Collins said 500 people from her state of Maine would lose their unemployment benefits this week, while doctors will soon have to absorb a 21 percent cut in their government health care reimbursements.

“This issue is so important to senators on both sides of the aisle,” Collins said.

Frustrated Democrats have been lobbing attacks at Bunning and his fellow Republicans for days. Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat, implored Bunning to relent and allow a vote.

But Democrats are also reaping political gains by attacking Bunning and his fellow Republicans. All three major cable news networks carried Tuesday’s proceedings live, and two other members of the Democratic leadership, Charles Schumer and Patty Murray, came to the floor to attack Republicans for blocking the legislation.

“Today we have a clear cut example to show the American people just what’s wrong with Washington, D.C.,” Murray said. “That is because today one single Republican senator is standing in the way of the unemployment benefits of 400,000 Americans.”

Bunning said again Tuesday that he opposed the extension because it would add $10 billion to the budget deficit, and he attacked Democrats for abandoning promises to pay for legislation instead of contributing to a budget deficit projected to hit almost $1.6 trillion this year. Bunning proposes to pay for the extension with unspent money from last year’s economic recovery package, but Reid objected.

Democrats want to pass the measure with the unanimous permission of all senators, a common tactic to speed noncontroversial measures through the Senate. Otherwise it could take almost a week to slog through the procedural steps required to take up the measure and defeat Bunning’s delaying tactics.

Bunning, 79, a former professional baseball player, is retiring from the Senate at the end of the current session, which gives fellow party members little leverage to try to force him to change his mind. Bunning has been feuding with his home state of Kentucky colleague, Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who privately urged him to retire rather than risk losing the seat to Democrats.Frustrated Democrats have been lobbing attacks at Bunning and his fellow Republicans for days. Beyond one's own mind there is no dazzling light to come shining in from outside to wake one up. If one recognizes one's own intrinsic State as pure from the beginning and only temporarily obscured by impurities, and if one maintains the presence of this recognition without becoming distracted, then all the impurities dissolve. This is the essence of the Path-namkhai norbu.

Why is there a legend about the descent of Christ into hell? The Teacher addressed the lower strata of the astral world, saying: Why, by cherishing earthly thoughts, bind oneself eternally to Earth? And many revolted in spirit and rose higher.

Republicans are sociopaths and cowards. Malignant Narcissism wrapped up in a political philosophy. Any working American (or Normal American) that votes for a Republican is suffering from a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome.

One of their heroes wrote, "What are your masses but mud to be ground underfoot, fuel to be burned for those who deserve it?" - Ayn Rand. She was arrogant enough to put it on paper, confidentially assured of the willful ignorance of "average" Republicans and their pathological need to sidle up to white billionaires in the vague delusion that they could one day meet them for a beer.

Sorry, chump. They DESPISE YOU – and your complicity with them only makes them hate you more. They will CONTINUE to dismantle your entire CLASS until “The Land of the Free” is “The United States of Serfs and Lords” and your dumb bobblehead will still be nodding in agreement as they continue to ship your jobs to China, demanding “freedom” from the only system (once) powerful enough to stand between you and the transnational corporations frothing at the mouth to chew you dumb Serf ass and spit you out – laughing all the way to the bank unfettered by the pesky government.

Re: Jim Bunning is one of new heroes! BLOCKS UNEMPLOYMENT EXTENSION A SECOND TIME!
I haven't posted on this forum in a bit. I am an original GLP member going all the way back. This is really pissing me off, sticking in my maw. While I rant occasionally about depop agendas, technologies of control, gov't malfeasance and general loss of freedoms and the like, it's all slices from the same loaf of bread to my age-addled and modern-world-weary brain.

So we can talk about fiscal 'responsibility' at our highest levels of gov't until we are blue in the face, but the truth is this country has a massive (and unlikely to ever be repaid) debt load and can hardly afford regular unemployment benefits much less extensions. But really, stack that noise up against the din of federally insured bank bailouts, all the gov't cash (in the form of contracts) handed out to big business, all the black-ops/military programs funded by 'slush' funds from who knows where? I'm sure there is more, and really, we just keep printing the fucking worthless paper money anyway so just keep printing that shit. Serious. Is Jim Bunning going to pay the piper? Take a paycut? Sleep on the streets or stand in line at a soup kitchen? Hell no.

Those on unemployment benefits are REQUIRED to look for work (at least in CA) and believe me, as bad as the economy is here in CA, there are places much worse off. I was laid off three times last year and have a pretty decent work history. Ultimately I had to re-locate to a bigger city and consider myself VERY fortunate to have found and have a job in these tough times, as should the esteemed (cough) Senator from the fine state of Kentucky. This fucktard was elected by the same people he would see homeless and hungry in the name of his new-found fiscal responsibility. Nice. Whatever.

This country needs more compassion and care, less bottom-line thinking and cowardice. We need to innovate and find solutions that empower not stifle. I certainly do not have these solutions at hand, and much brighter minds than mine have been stumped for a long time trying to sort this mess out.

But I say again, fuck you Jim Bunning, you should be ashamed of yourself.

IMPEACH!

The sad thing about all this is that's it's nothing but a scam.
Money is not what makes go round, it's labor. And people don't even have do much of that to insure that everybody lives a decent existence.

People can still be fed and sheltered if nobody paid a dime in taxes.

All we have going on in this world is the Nephilim's need to kill, stress and enslave people as the Ancients say they did in the past.

The old empires use to invade and fight wars for gold.
Nobody can eat fucking gold.

The myth of the dragon lying in a cave just stacking up gold for the hell of it is based on how these people running this world has long done.

We don't have to live this way.

Nobody even has to work for an hour a day for everybody in this world to thrive.

Most people don't have to work at all.

All that matters is that things are still being made and food is still being grown.

If you have unemployed people anywhere, that means that not only are things still being made, too many things are being made.

They pay farmers in this world not to grow food.

The U.S. alone throws away a million tons of perfectly good food a year and yet people whine because somebody has food stamps.

If people didn't get the food it'll just be tossed out.

It's all about keeping mankind in distress because they feed off that.

this is a really good point

what is the purpose of the economy any more, if it only takes the work of 1 percent to run the machines on the farms, and construct the infrastructure using modern machinery, to provide the basic necessities for survival for the entire population?

why does the GDP have to increase, increase, increase all the time? why can't we just say, we have enough material things already, lets spend our time on intellectual and spiritual studies, on the things that make life worth living, now that we've solved the problem of providing necessities which make life possible?

the best thing we could do for western economies is to reduce the number of hours in the work week from the current norm of 40 down to about 20.

this is the only way we're going to solve the problem of unemployment.
