The fundys at the time of Christ killed both Jesus as well as Stephen..the first martyr.

The fundys now go to war and destroy the very cradle of the early Church in Iraq...and the rest of the middle east.

The early Christian Church did not have any portion of the New Testment.....not until at least sixty AD....and that is pushing it if u study Higher Crit. of the Early Texts.

I hate to say it but you have been brainwashed and imo are under the control of the "mystery of iniquity"...if you believe modern day American version of Christianity as preached by almost all American preachers.

Nevertheless I could be wrong concerning you...you may be a believer...if you believe as Jesus said ...Keep the commandments and love God and your neighbour as yourself...then u are very close...Thos shall not murder, steal, bear false witness, etc...

Peace to you and God's blessings upon you.

Correct. The Kingdom of God is NOT inside most of these socalled Churches, where evil and Satan dwell in all their glory.

Ever wonder why the very sources that cast out devils are just burgeoning with them????

For myself, it´s my heart straight to my God. Period. And I have tried many religions, but since man himself is fallible and weak, it always plays out the same, with me being once again disallusioned and disenchanted.

God knows me and loves me, and I know Him and lean on His Love, Grace, Support and Protection.

Treat others as you wish to be treated, and love God with your whole heart, mind, soul and being, and everything else will fall into place.

That is the TRUE Golden Rule.

Blessings.

These are the hidden sayings that the living Jesus spoke. Whoever discovers the meaning of these sayings shall not taste death.

I truly believe this. I don't go to church. When I do (which is very rarely, I am usually dragged there) I find it hard to listen to anything that they say. I believe that if I wanted to pray or worship in anyway shape or form there's a perfectly good tree outside my house in which to do it, or just pray within myself. If I am supposed to pray in the house of god then it better be the true house of god, not in something that was built by man. I can't bring myself to absolutely believe in a religion, because any religion, doesn't matter how you look at it can be falsified. I find it best to remain neutral in every aspect of this world. There are so many things we don't understand and can't even begin to comprehend, so who is right - who knows? Is your religion the absolute truth? PROVE IT!
 Quoting: Harsesis 822519

The whole purpose of church, especially Catholic Mass, is to participate in the remembering Jesus. Believe it or not, you may know Jesus and his two commandments, but humanity will forget without ritual. How did the message get from 2000 years ago to now? Through ritual. Try passing a message around a classroom by whispering it to the next person. The message is severely distorted after 15 to 30 people.

What I say above is the PRIMARY purpose of going to Mass or a church service. You may personally never forget the message of Jesus, but for the person who hates the way their parents went about forcing them into a religion, the subsequent generation may never be taught about Jesus. Without a foundation of where behaviors originated and why, the beautiful message of Christ could be lost within 100 years. This is very hard to believe, but it is possible. A group of people who are willing to admit that human memory is fallible should find it their duty to continue the rituals and sacraments that keep Jesus Christ in our collective memory.

Study the origins of Christianity (The Way), and you will find that God did incarnate on this Earth. I know this because powerful, corrupt men can co-opt a great idea, but they cannot create it and then run it. Think about that for a while. A miracle occurred 2000 years ago, and it is our responsibility to make sure it is never forgotten. If you can think of a better way to hold the memory in humanity's mind than others then go for it because we should all try our hardest to keep Jesus alive in our minds and hearts.

A passage from Pope's "Essay on Man":

Know then thyself, presume not God to scan,
The proper study of Mankind is Man.
Plac'd on this isthmus of a middle state,
A Being darkly wise and rudely great:
With too much knowledge for the Sceptic side,
With too much weakness for the Stoic's pride,
He hangs between; in doubt to act or rest;
In doubt to deem himself a God, or beast;
In doubt his mind or body to prefer;
Born but to die, and reas'ning but to err;

Chaos of Thought and Passion, all confused;
Still by himself abused, or disabused;

So be judge or Truth, in endless Error hurled:
The glory, jest, and riddle of the world!

Kind of like a biography?
 Quoting: TXGal4Truth

The lack of textual evidence for Jesus' existence as compared to other supposedly less significant historical figures calls into serious question the authenticity of the claims regarding his life.
 Quoting: Least Servant

Not including Bible sources, the following people wrote about Jesus:
* The Jewish historian Josephus (A.D. 37-100)

*Pliny the Younger, imperial Roman Legate of Bythynia - in a letter to Emperor Trajan in A.D. 112

*Tacitus - the important Roman historian

*Suetonius - a Roman historian who compiled a biography of the first twelve Roman emperors in his "Life of Claudius"

*Thallus and Julius Africanus in A.D. 52

*Mara bar Serpion

In addition, there are thousands upon thousands of archaeological findings that point to Jesus existence.

I'm not saying Caesar Augustus didn't put one hell of a con-job on the planet. afro

I found Rome of clay; I leave it to you of marble.

The lack of a direct impression of Jesus' Magick Words would be the tell.
 Quoting: Least Servant

Cesar just repackaged the Astrolatry in Rome, Greece, and Babylon.

The more christians that he killed the more came into the fold.... So he had to change up his strategy and destroy the church from the inside.

The RCC fashioned jesus and the apostles into mythos and each character controlled various spheres of influence that were once attributed to other Gods. The RCC and EO rites almost PERFECTLY mirrors the Chaldean religion.

It was infiltration. The first christians never built churches, they taught in the pagan temples and debated with the top philosophers and theologians of the time and signs and wonders followed them everywhere...

The Apostles and Prophets were hated by government, social, and religious leaders...

Here is the fate of most of the apostles/disciples...

James:
The account given us by an eminent primitive writer, Clemens Alexandrinus, ought not to be overlooked; that, as James was led to the place of martyrdom, his accuser was brought to repent of his conduct by the apostle's extraordinary courage and undauntedness, and fell down at his feet to request his pardon, professing himself a Christian, and resolving that James should not receive the crown of martyrdom alone. Hence they were both beheaded at the same time. Thus did the first apostolic martyr cheerfully and resolutely receive that cup, which he had told our Savior he was ready to drink. Timon and Parmenas suffered martyrdom about the same time; the one at Philippi, and the other in Macedonia. These events took place A.D. 44.

Philip:
Was born at Bethsaida, in Galilee and was first called by the name of "disciple." He labored diligently in Upper Asia, and suffered martyrdom at Heliopolis, in Phrygia. He was scourged, thrown into prison, and afterwards crucified, A.D. 54.

Matthew:
Whose occupation was that of a toll-gatherer, was born at Nazareth. He wrote his gospel in Hebrew, which was afterwards translated into Greek by James the Less. The scene of his labors was Parthia, and Ethiopia, in which latter country he suffered martyrdom, being slain with a halberd in the city of Nadabah, A.D. 60.

James the Lesser:
He was elected to the oversight of the churches of Jerusalem; and was the author of the Epistle ascribed to James in the canon. At the age of ninety-four he was beat and stoned by the Jews; and finally had his brains dashed out with a fuller's club.

Matthis:
Of whom less is known than of most of the other disciples, was elected to fill the vacant place of Judas. He was stoned at Jerusalem and then beheaded.

Andrew:
Was the brother of Peter. He preached the gospel to many Asiatic nations; but on his arrival at Edessa he was taken and crucified on a cross, the two ends of which were fixed transversely in the ground. Hence the derivation of the term, St. Andrew's Cross.

Mark:
Was born of Jewish parents of the tribe of Levi. He is supposed to have been converted to Christianity by Peter, whom he served as an amanuensis, and under whose inspection he wrote his Gospel in the Greek language. Mark was dragged to pieces by the people of Alexandria, at the great solemnity of Serapis their idol, ending his life under their merciless hands.

Peter:
Among many other saints, the blessed apostle Peter was condemned to death, and crucified, as some do write, at Rome; albeit some others, and not without cause, do doubt thereof. Hegesippus saith that Nero sought matter against Peter to put him to death; which, when the people perceived, they entreated Peter with much ado that he would fly the city. Peter, through their importunity at length persuaded, prepared himself to avoid. But, coming to the gate, he saw the Lord Christ come to meet him, to whom he, worshipping, said, "Lord, whither dost Thou go?" To whom He answered and said, "I am come again to be crucified." By this, Peter, perceiving his suffering to be understood, returned into the city. Jerome saith that he was crucified, his head being down and his feet upward, himself so requiring, because he was (he said) unworthy to be crucified after the same form and manner as the Lord was.

Paul:
Paul, the apostle, who before was called Saul, after his great travail and unspeakable labors in promoting the Gospel of Christ, suffered also in this first persecution under Nero. Abdias, declareth that under his execution Nero sent two of his esquires, Ferega and Parthemius, to bring him word of his death. They, coming to Paul instructing the people, desired him to pray for them, that they might believe; who told them that shortly after they should believe and be baptised at His sepulcher. This done, the soldiers came and led him out of the city to the place of execution, where he, after his prayers made, gave his neck to the sword.

Jude:
The brother of James, was commonly called Thaddeus. He was crucified at Edessa, A.D. 72.

Bartholomew:
Preached in several countries, and having translated the Gospel of Matthew into the language of India, he propagated it in that country. He was at length cruelly beaten and then crucified by the impatient idolaters.

Thomas:
Called Didymus, preached the Gospel in Parthia and India, where exciting the rage of the pagan priests, he was martyred by being thrust through with a spear.

Luke:
The evangelist, was the author of the Gospel which goes under his name. He travelled with Paul through various countries, and is supposed to have been hanged on an olive tree, by the idolatrous priests of Greece.

Simon:
Surnamed Zelotes, preached the Gospel in Mauritania, Africa, and even in Britain, in which latter country he was crucified, A.D. 74.

John:
The "beloved disciple," was brother to James the Great. The churches of Smyrna, Pergamos, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea, and Thyatira, were founded by him. From Ephesus he was ordered to be sent to Rome, where it is affirmed he was cast into a cauldron of boiling oil. He escaped by miracle, without injury. Domitian afterwards banished him to the Isle of Patmos, where he wrote the Book of Revelation. Nerva, the successor of Domitian, recalled him. He was the only apostle who escaped a violent death.

Barnabas:
Was of Cyprus, but of Jewish descent, his death is supposed to have taken place about A.D. 73.

Most of these people were killed by Rome or by it's influence. They killed them all off and then turned them into Astrolatralogical deities (archetypes) which went against EVERYTHING they taught in the first place.

The First Persecution, Under Nero, A.D. 67
The Second Persecution, Under Domitian, A.D. 81
The Third Persecution, Under Trajan, A.D. 108
The Fourth Persecution, Under Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, A.D. 162
The Fifth Persecution, Commencing with Severus, A.D. 192
The Sixth Persecution, Under Maximus, A.D. 235
The Seventh Persecution, Under Decius, A.D. 249
The Eighth Persecution, Under Valerian, A.D. 257
The Ninth Persecution Under Aurelian, A.D. 274
The Tenth Persecution, Under Diocletian, A.D. 303

Then, we go into the Papal persecutions....

Popery having brought various innovations into the Church, and overspread the Christian world with darkness and superstition, some few, who plainly perceived the pernicious tendency of such errors, determined to show the light of the Gospel in its real purity, and to disperse those clouds which artful priests had raised about it, in order to blind the people, and obscure its real brightness.

By the year of Christ 1140, the number of the reformed was very great, and the probability of its increasing alarmed the pope, who wrote to several princes to banish them from their dominions, and employed many learned men to write against their doctrines. The principal among these was Berengarius, who, about the year 1000, boldly preached Gospel truths, according to their primitive purity. Many, from conviction, assented to his doctrine, and were, on that account, called Berengarians. To Berengarius succeeded Peer Bruis, who preached at Toulouse, under the protection of an earl, named Hildephonsus; and the whole tenets of the reformers, with the reasons of their separation from the Church of Rome, were published in a book written by Bruis, under the title of "Antichrist."

Not unlike the posters on GLP with all that info which is proven because they get banned...

On these matters, I know what I know... I'll be accused of being a ignorant and unfaithful before my heart will move to these matters.

As a former Catholic, the words were spoken to my heart but God gave me not the sense to hear.
