I'm sure that would make many Canadians very happy. The only winners in that deal was big business and the politicians that stuffed their pockets.
Well, if they cancelled NAFTA and phased it out over afew years, I can see a painful transition back to a healthy manufacturing base. It will likely bring another recession, riots, and social chaos where manufacturing has been for the past 2 decades.
Overall I think this is just lip service.

I now live Detroit Michigan and abot 80% of the auto manufacturing has disappeared in the last 10 years. That's not including the textiles, electronics, and all the rest of hte things we take for granted that we have lost in the past 50 years. It is time for renaissance of manufacturing ni America !!
