You'll have to get all of them pried up before it'll budge. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 907641Okay, that's good. But I've tried to do that with a crow bar. They call it a pry bar around here. No dice. |

BRIEF AND TO THE POINT User ID: 381742 United States 03/05/2010 12:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you can't open the bucket you need to hire the work done and go take a nap. Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it! when you rob Paul to give to Peter ... ... ... you will always get Peters support! :Brieffromnativea: |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 907693And proper placement in the room may just texture the walls just right. Just wait a few minutes, take a trowel and knock down the high spots. |

It also helps to, at the same time, also pull up on the free section next to the one you are trying to release next. |

JF Priest User ID: 880490 United States 03/05/2010 01:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | some have a pull tab that goes all the way around the top of the bucket (it is removable and attached to the lid).. If you can find a start tab, pull there and see if you can get the strip to pull away from the lid.. It may be difficult.. If you can not do that take a knife and cut the slots.. (They are pre-cut)these slots are under the lid and are spaced about 8 inches a part. Insert knife in slot and push down toward ground.. There may be as many as 6 or 7 of these around the lid.. Score or cut all the way through then pull off the lid...After they are cut you may want to take a pair of pliers and pull off each separated tab.. Anonymous Coward User ID: 822650 United States 03/05/2010 01:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I assume its a plastic 5 gallon container. Whether it is or not is not relavent. Put the container on the floor in front of you Place your knee in the very center of the lid and put downward pressure Use your hands and grab the lid underneath at the opposite point of your body. Simply pry the lid up a little (about 3") at a time. Pry up a little, move your hands 3" and repeat. If you're too fucking stupid to accomplish this, hire a contractor and pay him a load of money while you watch him do the same thing. You dont need any tools...no matter how weak you are. A 5 yr old child can do it. Heres a hint...if you cant open the can, you surely cant apply the material once you get at it. Geez |

Exhibit A User ID: 907727 Canada 03/05/2010 01:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here OP: TRUST ME. The plastic around the pail is pre weakened in alternating sections. You need: Large "flat" screwdriver. Hammer -------------------- Use the flat screwdriver like a chisel/knife. Put the very point of the corner of the flat scredriver against the uppermost point of each weakened section and hammer it in and then down the weakened section. After a few whacks it should be cut. Repeat for each section. Finally throw on a pair of gloves so you don't cut your hands, place one knee in the very center of the pail. Push HARD with your knee, put all of your weight down. Start pulling up on the pail lid in a circle until it pops off. |

I have to use it as I am not strong enough to pry off some if they are really stuck. Places that sell these buckets should also have the wrench. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 903967 United States 03/05/2010 01:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The guy at Home Depot told me to use cutters to cut the little holes with a pair of tin snips. It didn't do any good; the lid won't budge. Quoting: anonymous for a good reason 53226The last bucket I ended up using a saw to cut a hole in the lid and it was hard to get the mud out, lol. If any of you handy GLPers can help me out, I'd be much obliged. Step 1 - get a life. |
