CERN will not close down, the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) will be shut down. This will not happen until the END of 2011, and the LCH will continue running until then. And finally, this will be to address a POSSIBLE concern with the copper sheathing. In other words, while there is currently not an issue, they would rather be safe than sorry.

And that is so they can DOUBLE the current high-energy collisions, being performed at seven TRILLION volts.

I'd want to be cartain I had all of my t's crossed if I were going to play with 14 trillion volts too. But nah, let's just NOT take any precautions, but hope for the best...

And I've read about the LHC before because it concerns me with what they could cause by running this thing. We really have nothing to worry about but it's the "what ifs" that bother me.

Before the even started CERN I said NOTHING would come from it. The builders know there was NO 'big bang'. CERN was either built for some other reason or as a science hoax on the scale of the moon hoax.

At some point they could claim some new theory to supposedly prove big bang that cannot be confirmed.

This is one of the most complicated machines ever built, and some of the technologies were theoretical. But these guys actually built it. When the man said leading edge tech he was not kidding. Even machines with known technology will fail. I'm amazed they were able to get any results at all.

Set backs for an effort like this are to be expected

It's an upgrade for the magnet splices. They are to be upgraded with high quality copper shunts.

Currently LHC @ CERN runs at 7 TeV. After the upgrade, it will be able to run at it's full capability, 14 TeV which is 7mph slower than the speed of light.

If you guys bothered to click the link you'd see this was a PLANNED shut-down announced a while back.

This is not due to any malfunction or design flaw and is routine.


And you have to be a retarded idiot to think this has ANYTHING to do with the Norway spiral or any imagined nonsense about the sun.



I love how a huge percentage of the people that think global warming is a myth, because, "humans can't affect the planet", also believe CERN is capable of destroying or even AFFECTING the sun.
