Tuna Fish - Anyone a Fan?
I have been eating a lot of Tuna fish lately, mostly sandwiches (tuna, lettuce, tomato, pickles).

I've read that it's one of the best "brain foods", but I've also read tons of information in regards to the inhumane treatment of Tuna (live fish), as well as the potentially large sums of mercury found in their meat.

Does anyone have any info or opinions on it?

Apart from the mercury and pcb's tuna fish is great!

It's a great brain food, because it's high in protein, contains omega 3 fatty acids your brain tissue needs for healthy membranes, and it contains the amino acids tyrosine and tryptophan that support brain chemistry.

Because of the mercury and pcb's I try to eat less tuna and eat more of the smaller oily fishes. They have less accumulated toxins. Canned mackerel is better for you than tuna, and it's cheaper too. But it tastes way different.

Haven't had it in a long time...but maybe I should get some. I used to eat it alot but you know how one bad sampling can put you "off" a food for years? That was a baaaaaaad can of tuna.

Had a bad experience with vodka and OJ once too... and couldn't even smell OJ for three years afterward without dry heaving.

One time I found a small Asian child in my tuna.. I ate it anyways.

If it's labeled tuna, it's still tuna- as far as I'm concerned.

Good protein, but full of mercury. Maybe should cut down on your intake.
