You are both right and wrong! "Staying away from church is NOT good advice to everyone". "Thinking for yourselves" is good advice for everyone, and everyone that I've ever talked to at a church - and there have been 1,000s at many different churches - all thought for themselves. No one "is a slave" and for you to make that statement is highly rude and offensive - two characteristics that seem to be much more prevalent in non-church goers than church goers.

While I strongly believe in the possibility of a creator, all world religions have a failed understanding of who or what it is and what we're supposed to be.

The truth is that you are both offensive and wrong - just like Glen Beck. Churches today are not "sheeple pits". When was the last time you were in a church? When was the last time you attended a church regularly? What intellectual knowledge have you ever contributed to a church or churches? Many a pastor(74) teaches the truth but you won't find many of the TV Evangelists doing it. Do you know and pastors or priests? I know many from many denominations and I respect them all. NONE of the churches are "government controlled". STOP spreading lies! YOU ARE OFFICIALLY WARNED!

There is some serious tweaking that needs to happen to the message of every church that I've been in, but it's just tweaking - not a complete overhaul and certainly Not an abandonment. To teach to "Fight social justice and run from your church" or to agree with that statement is the opposite of what the Christ taught and is evil! (I never use that word lightly.)
