in fact the vids for the past week have been more active than usual

if you want to see some more spectacular take a look at the 12/30/2008 clip ... for starters then look at 12/31/2008 and finally review the 12/23/2008 clip ... you might need to see it several times to catch some of the nuances it reveals about what is happening and what maybe to expect in the future

"Guess what ? Nothing happened then."

that is of noticeable consequence ... that's right

after having watched these for some time now, I notice a wisp of something being blown ? off the magnetosphere from time to time ... this leaves me with the question of whether we are actually loosing some of our atmosphere/magnetosphereic components or resources of which the magnetosphere is manifested ... one thing is for certain ... there does seem to be something impacting our magnetosphere in very significant degrees from time to time

I think Iben Browning would have been very interested in these videos ... and maybe would have been able to provide some insight into incorporating them into forecasting

I am watching the magnetosphere all the time, too. I am no expert on it, so I cannot say when a "very significant" degree of impact begins. All I can say is that in over 3 years watching it, it got blasted heavy several times with no corresponding noticeable result (like one would expect that wifi-communication gets troubled and stuff like that). But I am no expert as I said.

If I wanted to dig deeper I would try get some books about the magnetosphere and magnetism in general and first study the scientific agreed knowledge. After that I would study the alternative views around here (nibiru etc.) and see what makes more sense.

What pisses me off personally are people who cry "the world is going to end soon, look at the magnetosphere for prove" while they have no idea about the physics involved (not directed at you OP).

You cannot judge the alternative view if you don't understand the scientific view (which might be wrong, science is not perfect and mankind discovers new stuff that they did never think of before on a daily basis).
That is a problem with many here on this forum, they claim to be open minded but in reality they are gullible and agree with everything as long as it opposes the scientific point view.

A good researcher has the same scepticism on the scientific point of view and the alternative point of view and he decides what makes more sense after he studied both throughly.

The guy looks like a prime example of a "good researcher". Thx, nover heard of him before.

I agree that sounding alarm is wrong when nothing is known to have some factual relationship ... as to these magnetosphere video simulations, from what I have seen so far, there has been no consistent correlation with the GOES Xray Flux (CMEs) which leaves me to think that cosmic energy from outside our solar system may be what is impacting our magnetosphere

something like what the Russians may be referring to when they describe our solar system as going through an area of denser energy

Just so you know I dont make magnetosphere video's to match em up with anything - tis a celestial influence, do you feel different when the magnetosphere is firing??? Things impact the magnetosphere when there's nothing out there - that we know of. To me tis all about the shift - thats why I have my Here comes the sun thread and my celestial influences and weather thread. Everything is connected. Just my take. hf

I heard about that theory and last time I checked astronomers agree to a large part with is if I remember right ... maybe not on the source, but on the general "heating up" in the universe.

My understanding is that the more action it gets the stronger it becomes... And that the reason it has been weak lately is because we have just come out of a very long solar minimum.

But I have also heard that we are going through an Oort Cloud and will be for many many many years to come. These clouds conduct Gamma rays and x rays very nicely and will amplify them (the rays) exponentially and that is not a good thing.
