So, if the sun exploded, we would not see the explosion until after we were flung out of orbit in a straight line for around 8 minutes of travel?

OP or someone said cell phones were going down too. It's to be expected if everyone in the country tried to call a freind at the same time. It happened almost nation wide here in the US on 911. System overload.
Updates directly from Chile may be slow in coming.

OP posted to us the other day when the HUGE aftershocks started hitting. Everything he said was accurate.

He wrote about the first two aftershocks before they were detected and could be verified.
