That is so yuppie-ish. Build yourself a quad-core screamin' pc, boot Linux and leave the Macs to the kumbaya crew.

Got a HP few years back. It's been sitting in the other room, never use it. Could have got 3oz gold.

I love mine. Now i own 2 Macs. I don't know why i would ever go back to a PC. Microshort....fuck em.

Solid laptop I have one its been pretty good. It got dropped 2 feet onto a wood floor and didn't break. The only problem is I think the screen isn't as bright as when it was new. Did you get the SSD? I wish mine had a SSD but i got the next best thing, a 7200rpm drive.

I was like you. Worst computer I ever bought. Cracks, swollen battery that sticks out and presses against the track pad. All common problems with the white macbooks.

Then the Apple fan boys are so cult like, that I get embarrassed if anyone sees me with the macbook in public. But since I can't type on it because of the swollen battery, it's connected to a computer monitor, and keyboard

Another thing about the Macs, pay hundreds of dollars extra for technology that was new 2 years ago.

i was just reading something on breaking news about a massive recall on macbooks happening , sounds like everything that is on order will be put on hold indefinitely

I believe he was talking about the iMac. Apple had to stop shipment, and half a whole bunch of them sent back to be fixed.

I heard they have problems with the throttle sticking. The CPU just melts down.

I've always looked at Apple and PCs this way ...

Apple is like a dictatorship where they have tight control over everything. Things work pretty well but creativity is stifled. If you want your options limited stick with Apple.

The PC world has always been a little chaotic and not so consistent as in the Apple dictatorship but creativity is allowed and freedom reigns. If you like new ideas and are not afraid of learning new and exciting software and hardware then stick with PCs.

I have a Intel PC with a dual boot (MAC-OS and Win7) so i can play with this MAC-OS and it's great!.

I am typing with my new mac pro and I gotta tell you, OP, that I just LOVE it!! It was a huge learning curve and I still have so much more to go but I would never go back to microsuck. There were times when I wanted to just give up but then I'd find something else neat that it would do. You won't regret getting it!

the new mac laptops are good. but at the same time they are annoying. just a simple thing like opening a command prompt can be an event in mac if you are not used to it. i still have no idea how to vpn into work. but it is nice for a home use laptop and runs pretty solid.

Apple must be doing something right. I know several people who have made the switch.

There is a learning curve that can be nerve racking but in the end the mac is a solid machine. It can be hard to get used to simple things, routines that you are so used to with a PC. The mac pro I purchased in early 2008 is an incredible machine. The mac pro is not to shabby either.

The programs are logical. The folders are arranged in a logical way. Not like a PC where you have to dig throough a pile of folders just to find where something is stored. The PC programs often have a default that brings you back to a specific point that can be time consuming. With a mac, the programs I am using are left just the way I stopped using them last. While there are fewer programs for mac, they are generally well thought out.


An amazing time saver.
