Another thing to consider. Daniel's prophecy of 70 "sevens" (or 490 years) follows the same pattern as the Jubilees. The "sevens" represent the Shmita cycle that are seven years apart. There is no 50th year to separate the cycles. Therefore the Jubilee has to be the first year of the following cycle.

1965/66 = 7th Shmita since Allenby liberated Jerusalem.
1966/67 = 69th Jubilee since Moses. Jerusalem again liberated.
1972/73 = 1st Shmita in new cycle.
1979/80 = 2nd Shmita
1986/87 = 3rd Shmita
1993/94 = 4th Shmita
2000/01 = 5th Shmita
2007/08 = 6th Shmita
2014/15 = 7th Shmita
2015/16 = 70th Jubilee since Moses.

Bear in mind, the modern day nation of Israel practices Shmita in exactly the years indicated above. Farmers were not allowed to till their own land in 2007/08. This was supported by the rabbis of Israel and by the Israeli Supreme Court.

70 is a very signicant number in prophecy. Seven trumpets were blown in the first Jubilee, at the battle of Jericho. Seven trumpets will be blown by angels at the 70th Jubilee. The liberation of the whole planet will occur. At the sounding of the 7th trumpets, the angel announces "The kingdoms of this earth have become the kingdoms of Christ." Satan has to give the earth back to its original owner in accordance with the laws of Jubilee.

If 2015 were to be the Jubilee year, than spring of 2012 would mark the time of the abomination that causes desolation.
