Quoting: B-FlatWhere are you going...? What's your time frame? (Why would be a plus although, since I live here, I already have a good idea of why..) Californians (specifically southern Californians) tend to have a hard time getting along in other places. They are more abnoxious than the Irish on St Pattys and the Mexicans on Cinco de Mayo put together. Most southern California residents do not realize how whiney and lazy they are. They act as if they are a gift to where ever they go. So when locals are assholes to them, the Californians tend to think it's just because everyone is jealous because they are from "SoCal" (Good God that is GAY), but this is not the case. You are just assholes. They tend to tick a lot of people off. Here in Colorado there is a t-shirt you can get referencing this. I have also heard complaints from people who live in other states where Californians have moved. Just a bad, snooty, self absorbed culture there, and that does not fly well in the rest of the nation. Well, except maybe in Dallas. LOL But I'm cool with northern Californians. |

Well, except maybe in Dallas." In my own experience, it's usually the wealthy S. Californians that are like that, everyone else, except those on public assistance, have to work very hard here just to spin your wheels and get nowhere.... but now the economy here is making it impossible to support yourself no matter how hard you work, or how much you scrimp and save... |

I may be back one day. also DO NOT move to the NW if you are a single male. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 905015 United States 03/16/2010 07:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm in Long Beach and our neighborhood has been selling well, essentially another mini-bubble fueled by government intervention. We bought our house before the boom and still have plenty of equity in our home. So we're selling this summer and hoping to move to either Dallas metro or Colorado. Of course the weather and sheer beauty (I know other states are beautiful in their own way) of this state cannot be matched elsewhere, its not enough though to keep us here. We're a family of 5 and my hubby earns a great salary, but we still live paycheck to paycheck. With 3 kids, we're also very concerned about public education. We haven't ruled out moving to South Orange County or North San Diego county where houses are a bit better priced. Yet, with all the crazy taxes and fees, we'd be wise to move out of state ASAP. |

Quoting: B-FlatWhere are you going...? What's your time frame? (Why would be a plus although, since I live here, I already have a good idea of why..) I left LA in 2002 after 12 years. Home prices suck and 98.5% of the people suck. The most arrogant, narcissistic, cynical, self-important stupid fucks I have ever met in my life. The people there are not worth a bucket of warm piss. And I've been EVERYWHERE- NYC, Canada, Europe, Asia, you name it, and the people in SoCal are a waste of oxygen. It's really sad. Sorry to be such an ass, but I just have to call it like I see it. |

I moved from LA to Dallas. Nothing compares with Cali geography, hardly anywhere in the world. I luv it. You might like west Plano, very good school system and big bang for your buck housing-wise while Dallas is just minutes down the tollroad. $400k buys you a 3500 squarefoot home with all the fixins. |
