I haven't been back there in over 30 years, so it may well have regressed into Neolithicism!

Yep, Wigan was the home of Northern Soul when the casino operated in its heyday.

Wigan still has a lot going for it, though..

Internationally famous Rugby and Football teams. Pies. George Formby. George Orwell's Road to Wigan Pier (where I live, btw..I can see the Orwell Pub and Wigan Pier outside my window right now). Wigan International Airport.

..well...no airport actually...and we don't even have a pier at Wigan Pier..

But it's still the best place to live, bar none.

They're still thousands of years ahead of the bible belt, USA though.
