Well isn't the moon supposed to have the crescent vertical?
Not horizontal from top to bottom.
It looks different to me.

A "U" moon is not a sign that there is something wrong with the orbits of Earth or Moon or Sun. It is a NORMAL orientation of the moon in the sky. There are apparently a number of people who's "intuition" is pretty faulty.
