Depends on who you ask. Obama voters will tell you it's illegal for a state to secede, and that the issue was settled at Appomatox Courthouse.

Others argue that the War Between the States only proved that the Federal Government can suppress secessionist movements by force of arms.

If there are any credible politicians left in any of the states then this should be an option to consider. Lets face it, are these states going to allow the IRS to come into their states terrorizing their citizens and hauling them off to FEMA camps for the simple crime of not being able to pay for Obamacare?

It's "secede" and no, we won't. Sue the federal government, most definitely, but not secede. It's OUR union.

How will the government (federal) stop the states from seceding, if 300+ million Americans decide that they've had enough of the government (federal)?

In a way, the moron from the city is correct. I don't foresee the union dissolving in the near future. But if you want to defeat this poor disgusting excuse of a president, change your W-4 forms to claim all dependent and expect a smaller return come tax time. If at all possible if you can afford to, pay your taxes at the last minute, April 14th. Even though the conservatives are a minority we pay the majority of the taxes. Doing these two things will really bring hardship on the democrats and surely a defeat in November. My back up plan, I plan to buy land in Costa Rica and plan to move there with my family. If enough conservatives do this, this country will fall on its ass so fast that they will be asking Haiti for financial aid. After all you cant be liberal with nothing.

Many States are considering secession. It's legal for Texas to do it, haha...it's a Republic. Just like the U.S. used to be...now it's an empire.

The United States is plural, not singular. It's not "The U.S. is going to fight" - it's "The States are going to fight."

Just because we're united doesn't mean we can't disband. Hell, we have the Constitutional right to 'alter or abolish' government when it becomes destructive of the ends of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, our unalienable rights :-) :rant:
