The only reason we get so many reported nowadays is because we have better ways of finding them. We´ve no idea how many close calls we had 20 years ago, but it was certainly just as many as we get every year. We just didn´t know about them. |

Distance from earth to moon today is 233 058 miles or 0.0025071 AU. .053, .060,.016 are distances beyond the moon´s orbit of the earth. Thanks for encouraging the astronomy lesson. |
