That provision takes effect this year. |

The Federal Government has broken constitutional law with this "Health Reform" bill. That means they are comitting a crime, which makes them felons, which means they must all be arrested and charged (which means they will be removed from office). The only reason they haven't is because no one wants to tell it how it is. It is pretty much Treason. |

This bill does not do one thing to fix the real problem with health care: COSTS. This bill ADDS MORE COST and spreads it out amongst EVERYONE. So for the few "good", "bleeding-heart" things it addresses it is nothing more than an anti American redistribution of wealth. Even though politicians think it's just a "goddamned piece of paper" Quoting: Anonymous Coward 920861the free market doesn't work well to provide health insurance, because it's unlike insuring any other commodity. when it comes to serious, long term illness, you're talking about insuring something that for many years incurs little expense in claims, but after a major illness suddenly shifts to becoming high risk and likely to be a losing proposition to the insurance company for years, even decades insurance companies don't have much incentive to write policies that don't have loopholes that allow them to drop those who get a serious illness it becomes a society problem because the majority of us aren't willing to let others simply die without care even when they're too stupid or incapable of taking the steps they should have to protect against the possiblity they'd need major medical treatment that's why medicare was enacted. and social security. these were things done to help people too stupid or incapable of preparing for their retirement. the individual mandate to be health insured in the health reform bill is really a tax ... you get taxed if you don't have insurance. those of us who do have insurance get a tax credit. would a tax like that have been unconstitutional? of course not, not any more than social security tax is unconstitutional, and tax credits for retirement saving accounts. so is it just a matter of the words used? are you saying it's unconstitutional because they called it a fine, instead of a tax ? read what i wrote before you say that requiring someone to buy a private product is unconstitutional. if that's true, so is a tax credit to persons who buy solar panels. |
