I live in NC and the moon tonight seems strangely TOO close in the sky! Also, even though it is not yet a full moon, the area is EXTREMELY illuminated! Just doesn't feel right...coming from an AVID sky watcher!

huh?????? yourself, did you ever look at the sky, most of them change colors while they twinkle. they are thus NOT stars

well here in Denver Co, most of them are here anyway. sirius is, and it's NOT a star by the way, it changes colors and moves, it's a craft. I have a new computer without a sky program, so I am not sure if the others in your list. If you don't see them, they are CRAFT and not stars, so not to worry ok?

Wow Op..I think URanus crashed into the moon,and...and the Stars disappeared!

I was totally stunned to notice it is almost full. It's been black as pitch for several nights here in South Texas, so I was expecting just a sliver. Tonight is very bright.

i was outside earlier and the stars looked all wrong to me as well. no BS.

i don't know JACK about stars, but i know what formations are above at most times of night, and it looked very "sparse" and completely foreign to what i am accustomed to seeing at night.

Once the the brightest star I'd ever seen in the western sunset, flashing red and green and blue. Of course it had to be Venus and by all accounts it was exactly where Venus should have been. Only when I pointed a telescope at it there was a regular swirling pattern on it's disk. Certainly was NOT a natural star!

When you look at the sky can't you feel how the ''stars'' pattern position follow a sphere. The universe looks nothing like this.

While you stand looking skyward extend your right hand holding up 1 finger.

As you do this have your friend positioned behind you.

Next tell your friend to turn her face to Uranus.

As she does this bend over.

Now ask your friend as she looks towards Uranus if she sees a dark area...if so this may be a brown dwarf or black hole and within this dark area the missing stars may be found.

We had to take them down for a bit... We are working on them. They should be back up soon... Like in 30-35 min. We made them better. We took windows off of them and put OS X snow leopard on them...
