I've been thinking a close over $1250 and we could easily see a $100 in a relatively short time frame - imho!!!

So far, buyers stepping in about $1230.

now they seem to be buying anytime it goes below $1200/ounce.

if this keeps up methinks some shorts are going to have to cover real soon

I was watching a trader on cnbc yesterday who was saying

that a close above $1225 would project gold to the

$1300 level.

....and $1300 here we are.

While many were selling at $1100, i went all in again.


i honestly feel like when i was driving early this morning

[about 13 hours ago] the Lord Jesus impressed upon me again

that the comex will be busted.

I've been 80% in since 500s, up to round 90 in the 600s. Sold some in the 2008 dip, didn't time the buyback well and lost about 10 ounces, but now...the gains have exponentially significantly made up for that loss.

(it wasn't a loss in monetary terms anyhow, as the gains intially were very much more than 9-10k...just, I lost 10oz worth of relative purchasing power).

I've learnt to just stay firm. Not sell. Specially now, the pullbacks rebound so quickly noone can time it.

I will reassess things at 3-5k. But I would not be surprised to see 10k+ within a few years.

i agree. it is a fundemental different situation now where the major world currencies are in a race to the bottom.

The Central Banks of these countries are not run by buffoons. They necessarily realize the lethal FOREX and T-Bond price losses they are suffering. So let's assume they will soon make the smart and prudent decision to sell at least 10% of their holdings in the near term (if they have not already started) in order to buy gold.

10% of $2.2 TRILLION is $220 BILLION. And "IF" they could buy gold for this amount at $1400/oz, it would represent about 5,000 tonnes of the shiny yellow. This amount represents TWO YEARS OF TOTAL GLOBAL GOLD PRODUCTION, which means the gold price would go parabolic.

Therefore, any intelligent and objective observer is forced to conclude the price of gold will soar going forward...exacerbated by the US Fed's implementation of QE2 at the behest of Obama who passionately wants to be a 2-term President.

US dollar has been hanging on only because, imho, the euro is in such deep trouble.

However, i believe new highs will still be set in gold.
