I was thinking about this in the context of breeding plants. I'm not as philosophical or as much "in the know" as some of you are.. but I do notice correlations and patterns.
It seems that when you hybridize/breed plants, what you are hoping/wishing for affects the outcome of what you get. This goes beyond selection of seed parents.
Two small examples. I had a fragrant pink rose seedling this year. I wanted it to be red. It TURNED red.
I wanted a red azalea seedling- I was looking at red parents to breed with, but never had the means to purchase any. Anyway, I have a seedling that is red this year. Most interesting because I have no red parents.
Thinking about how things like corn evolved... I wonder if it was due more to the influence of the "the field of human energy" than it was due to selection.
Anyway, just my 2 cents.
