Macedonians are an ancient historical people-group of ethnic-Greek stock - so why are the Slavic speaking peoples from FYRoM so determined to use a Greek-Hellenic name for self-Identity and for self-determination purposes...the answer ofcourse is indoctrination. Young Slavic children reared to believe in Slavic Macedonia and Slavic Alexander the Great from since antiquity. Slavists from the old-Yugoslavia destroyed the lives of generations of Slavic children tuitioned on bad Ideas - Ideas ancient-Macedonians were Slavs.
Like in the game of chess...FYRoM's Indoctrinated young people can be checkmated in a historical debate game of chess by two simple moves.
The first move is to show them the abundance of accumulated archaelogical evidence which places the Macedonians of old in with the Greek speaking Hellenic collective of peoples, then awaite a reply.
The reply is always the same, text-book and repetitive - the Macedonians of old spoke the Hellenic-language on the basis it was the lingua-franca language for trade and commerce, Macedonians were not Greeks because they spoke their own Macedonian-language by which they mean and refer to their own current language called Macedonian.
The second move in the historical debate game of chess, puts them in checkmate, on the basis...FYRoM's so called Macedonian-language cannot be traced back further than 1944. Before 1944, there was No such language, No Macedonian-language existed. FYRoM's current language is a mixed hybrid Serbo-Bulgarian language, a concoction Communist Slavists from the old-Yugoslavia christened Macedonian-language.
Slavists destroyed FYRoM's youth - the children pupils and students there have been reared on bad Ideas and fabricated history. They have become expert on making fools of themsleves every single time they enter into historical debates about their ethno-origins, history and heritage
