Mum used to be a witness but she quit cause my dad hated it, but id say they're fairly harmless.

You find idiots in any religion, although the door knocking is pretty annoying..

But at least they dont worship a god whos gonna make good people suffer for all eternity just because they picked the wrong religion or grew up in the wrong area. (Nor do they follow idolatry, worship the pope or believe god is made up of 3 separate parts..)

That being said.. all im trying to justify is their intentions as opposed to more mainstream christianity or the mormons.

Don't get me started....

I was brought up a JW, they are nice however...

What I don't get is the whole ignoring the disfellowshipped/diassociated ones!

Most of my family are JW's which is difficult because I'm no longer one.

All because I was baptized and left the religion, they're not allowed to associate with me. Yet my cousin's who left and are NOT baptized, they can still associate with. They go on holiday together and stuff, and trust me, they are more wordly than me! I'm not allowed to go for meals etc with any of them, only my mum but not very often, she gets uptight in case she gets told off for being seen with me.

It's because I committed the ultimate sin and dedicated my life to God through baptism then rejected him so that makes me even more of an evildoer.

I never rejected GOD, just the religion!

What makes it worse is that my uncle is an elder in the congregation and he associates with his worldly daughter!! One rule for one, one for another!

Apparently ignoring you is mean't to help you return so my mum says. If anything it puts me off because now I'm thinking....HYPOCRITES!!

I've literally been in a pub and seen my auntie in there, she just looked at me, then turned her back on me. Aren't you suppose to love your enemies???

When my other auntie was really ill with swine flu, the only person who got her a 'get well card' was me. No-one in the congregation, hardly anyone asked after her....yet I'm the demonic worldly woman.

Don't get me wrong, I do love my family and respect them. I keep out of their way, but it is hard.

Re: why do so many people hate Jehovah's Witnesses?
The WT Society is a human originating, men-run, high controlling religious cult-like institution, rather than what they tell people they are (God's appointed Channel/Organization/People etc etc).

The facts prove without a doubt that God was never behind any of this:

[link to home.tiscali.nl]

ALL FROM THEIR OWN LITERATURE WITH DATES AND PAGES TO SEE FOR YOURSELVES!

We got false predictions all over the place, medical disasterous policies - FORCED on JW's.

We got flip flops, blinking lights, wacky science, historical failures, arrogance, judging and loads of WT Society embarrassments and humiliations throughout their entire 100+ year history!

God had nothing to do with all that nonsense that was called, "Food from God" by all JW's.

It was WRONG when it first came off the presses!

So why are some today opposed to Jehovah's Witness and their policies?

Dead People is why.

Ruined lives is why.

False prophecies is why.

A controlling Religious Institution is why.

They are WRONG ON BLOOD TODAY (for 68 years now).

They are WRONG ON SHUNNING those that simply walk away from the JW religion today.

They are WRONG 607 BCE and 1914.

They were WRONG ABOUT FORBIDDING Vaccinations, Organ Transplants, Alternative Service and more.

They were wrong on ALL OF THEIR End of World Predictions in writing. Wrong on marital infidelity rules, rape rules, beards, 1935, Beth Sarim and too many things to bother listing here.

Did ((( GOD ))) make all of these terrible decisions to force on all the JW's as "food at the proper time, and then change his mind later on?

Or did a few OLD MEN, that make up the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses (sitting up in some Brooklyn office somewhere) MAKE these poor decisions, FORCE them on all JW's and then afterwards conveniently change their mind?

Does God serve Bad Food like this?

Perhaps He is not a very good cook?

Shunning people for disagreements is NOT scriptural!

Shunning people for walking away from the JW faith is NOT scriptural!

This is a CONTROL mechanism. And it often works. It is a gross misapplication of scripture to keep the average JW towing the line.

THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UNITY AND FORCED UNIFORMITY.

Jw's are not allowed to even THINK differently.

I WAS a JW, and an elder as well, until recently in 2006 when I walked away. I am very familiar with how they are actually WORSE than most other faiths today. I am shunned for walking away. People today and for the last 80 years have died, without reason, due to the WT medical policies forced on all JW's.

Each week is filled with a list of JW obligations that basically OWN YOU. You are told what you can read, what movies are acceptable, what association is acceptable, what facial hair is okay. What you can celebrate and cannot. What words you are allowed to use.

What is allowed in your own bedroom with your wife. And too many other things to list here again. Before knowing all the facts and believing they were God's True Channel, one can go a very long way to justify all of these things. Take away that one true faith belief and so falls the rest.

I have been there and done all that.

JW's are told they cannot take blood transfusions in situations where they might need one (such as through accidents or complications with surgery, pregnancy or child birth).

So, naturally, more JW's will die.

Just like this mother died unnecessarily!

[link to news.bbc.co.uk]

And now her husband has no wife and her two new twins have no mother.

And all for what?

This is very simple. JW's NEEDLESSLY die for this sorry blood policy today.

From the same organization that has an entire 100 + year history of similar bad policies.

This is why I suggest to anybody thinking of becoming a JW ... to READ READ AND READ UP ON THIS RELIGION FIRST!

The proof will clearly stand out that the JW faith is not what they try to tell people they are!

The facts are irrefutable.

In a religion that disfellowships, children should never be baptized. And I am talking those under 18. Even those under 21. Too much can change in a person's life. The Amish understand this and will not allow baptism under 18.

The Witnesses should null and void all baptisms for those who were under 18 or just not allow them. Who in the heck knows themselves at such an early age? This is just tearing families apart. I am so sorry this has happened to you.

I am also an ex. I was Df'd for smoking and pre marital sex. I know now that ANY religion who claim that they and only they will be the ones "saved" are wrong. Rev say "people of all races tribes tongues etc..." the word tribes is most interesting to me. In this day and age a "tribe" could very well mean a "religion". I do not think a God of LOVE would kill a man just because he was not a JW.

My gramma was dear friends with a woman whose daughter turned into a preachy judgmental Jehovah's Witness. The daughter as is their belief, stopping giving any gifts and doesn't celebrate any holidays. But they TAKE though. They just don't reciprocate. They're completely self centered and greedy. (And child molest is rampant in it too, but they are so brainwashed they make Mormons look like atheists.) The daughter used to engage is stupid "you're going to hell" arguments so her kids could steal money out of the mother's purse. My gramma and her would talk and she'd cry and be so upset. I was about 9-10 at the time but I never forgot. They are nice to your face but they are not really genuine.

I don't hate JWs, I just know they are false teachers. They think Jesus was just a nice guy and not God, they don't believe in hell, and they have their own weird version of the Bible. I dislike that they try to come off as some sort of Christian sect when in fact they are not. You can't be christian and not believe in Jesus. If they would admit they are just a different team already, then fine.

If they come to my house I am polite with them, and they are polite with me.

I think a lot of people "hate" or dislike them because they don't like people coming to their door talking about religion. That's pretty simple. Most people don't like strangers at their door, no matter what the reason.

Most accurate compared to what? You are making a statement of fact based on the infallible word of the all-knowing wiki. I can go on wiki right now and change the answer to Batman comic books.

The New World Translation was written to eliminate the deity of Christ. It's not a translation, but a horrible corruption pretending to be God's word.

And yes, hedonists don't make good Christians. Different teams.

I despise them because my life was saved by a blood transfusion. These blinded people would let a child die rather than let him/her live by receiving blood. That is why legal intervention is necessary to prevent such child abuse. They twist the Biblical verse that we should abstain from eating/drinking blood, to mean that a transfusion is a sin.
Sad and sick...

They are a joyless group who will not even celebrate Christmas or birthdays in their misguided narrow interpretation of the Bible.

Nor will they permit their children to recite the Lord's Prayer in school in areas (such as parts of Canada) where the school day begins with the reading of this prayer over the loudspeaker system. JW children not only will not participate in this prayer (even though it is in the new Testament as Christ's guidance for appropriate prayer and they claim to be Christian, which they most certainly are not!) but they will not stand quietly during the prayer and some children are forced by their parents to leave the classroom and stand outside the door in the corridor when the prayer is being recited.

Wow, I sound like a 5yr old reading this back lol

I understand the reason behind WHY they do it. I'm questioning the difference between being baptised/disassociated an NOT being baptised/disassociated.

I was baptised then left later on...no-one is allowed to talk to me or associate with me!

My cousin, who didn't get baptised but left, my family still associate with her.

She goes for drinks or meals with them, even on holiday etc yet I'm not allowed because of a little thing called....baptism.

I would of thought the same principal would apply? Both my cousin and I are now of the "world"!

Thanks hun..

I was 15 when I got baptised. To be honest I didn't really know what I was doing. I don't regret it in a sense it was for God...but I do from a religious point of view.

Don't get me wrong I don't hate Jehovah witnesses at all, most of them are lovely and I have some good memories but, I just feel they're too controlling and fear based. Their teachings are still embedded within me, I'm still trying to shake off the idea I'm going to die at armageddon because Jehovah don't like me any more...

...I'm pretty sure he does, I hope so lol...

Priests get angry when they are exposed as teaching man's customs instead of Bible truths, so they tell their congregation the the JW's have their own Bible and not to listen to them.

The religious leaders in Jesus day did the same to him and his followers, even having Jesus killed.....

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 773169

yes thats true, people dont want to hear the truth and most people dont understand what is the disctinction between the father and the son Jesus and what are thier roles..first of all,for God who loves the world and he gave his only begotten son,so it means there is existence of the father and son jesus christ.and it's logical to ask who is the father and who is the son jesus christ? and there is no way in the bible stated that father and jesus is the same but ARE the same means plural and that means two separate persona.they are just the same in likeness but never the same in the level of position and divinity but both are holy.its easy to understand to worhip God the father who created the heaven and the earth and honor jesus christ as an ideal example by following his teachings as all things he has done in earth is all by his father's will,he just being so obedient and loyal son to his father and coz of his love to his father he followed God's will and yes jesus loves us all also, since his father loves and cares for us and since they are in one accord that's why he's being a saviour of our sins and appointed messiah.by that time he reign as king of the earth coz God the father annointed him and turn over all the task upon his shoulder..but everything has done becoz of God the father's will.

I work with a Jehova's Witness.

He is the single kindest, most polite person I've ever had to work with.

I am completely non-religious (but am open minded and fascinated about the possibilities) and he doesn't ever try to push anything onto me. He answers my questions in an honest and open way, but again- I have never felt like he was trying to "convert" me.

All in all- I hold a favorable view of Jehova's Witnesses.

If you have a problem with polite, kind and generous people (regardless of their religious beliefs)- then I have a problem with YOU.
 Quoting: Herb N Bourbon

I appreciate your views toward JW,i started studying also with one of the witnesses thier views are not biased nor against with any other religion, their basic principle of teaching is very clear and not diluting other human philosopy,to note, they are the most polite and respective people and really well united worldwide..as i've observed.some may find strict rules and regualtions in the society when deeds are conflicting to God's will only, some cannot maybe tolerate and being disfellowed coz they wanted so much freedom and causes rebellion towards thier belief but when bad things happens to them, they blame God for letting bad things happens to thier lives,God is not the source of wickedness,it's by our own choices and desires in this world coz God cares and loves everyone..so i guess thier is reason of having strict policy and setting of limitations which is all supported by the bible scriptures..anyway,free will is being given to everyone and to build such faith is not by force, some are just scared to know the truth and they dont want to live thier life on the edge but "carefree" no restrictions..coz the more you know God's commandments the more people get scared of it coz they would think there is no such " freedom" to everthing they do...but if one's conscience is pure and clean and the intention is to become righteous in front of God then we will obey God's word by heart w/out any fear..criticizm wont save us,coz what matters is our relationship wiht God,by knowing him and his purpose for us.and each of us will take our own account during the last days...

Re: why do so many people hate Jehovah's Witnesses?
I come from a generational family of JW's (great-grandparents on one side, grandparents on the other), here's some inside info most people don't know.

The Witnesses aren't a religion, but a corporation. They are The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Inc., and they have predicted Armageddon numerous times. First they said 1914, then 1918, then they said that in 1925 Abraham, Isaac, etc would be resurrected and fleeced their flock out of money to build a mansion for them (but really the mansion was for the leaders of the corporation). In the late 1800's and early 1900's they believed in Pyramidology, the study of the pyramids to extrapolate biblical events. They proclaimed until the 1950's that Jehovah resided in the star system Pleiades.

In the 70's, they advised their flock in their publications to sell their homes because Armageddon was coming in 1975. When that failed, they had many people leave. Up until the late 80's, they sold the Watchtower and Awake magazines door to door, but were forced to switch to a 'donation' only method after they almost got their tax exempt status revoked.

They are a cult that is mentally and emotionally abusive to children. I know this first hand. They even print their own book which is a supposed "history" of the religion, but which whitewashes all of the failed prophecies of Armageddon. When asked how a religion that was made so many false prophecies isn't a false prophet, they refer to the biblical passage of "The Light gets brighter and brighter", implying that they were mistaken because we are simply humans interpreting God's word, and that false prophecies does not make one a false prophet.

It's truly circular logic that they employ.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 867542

To be fair in my own understanding,as i have read JW's bible and understand some of t hier views..we can't judge the entire society just becoz of false prophecy,it does only mean that everyone is imperfect and we dont know exactly what is the reason behind all of it,If somehow God had spoken to one of thier people and give instructions to propecies something and it din't happen, maybe onyl God is giving a little room to everyone to find imperfections of human deeds just to maybe "test thier faith" whether to stand still with God despite of accussations and criticism from others.but true witnesses still stands the test of time and it shows thier loyalty to the God...so,in general maybe God has given some purpose to these people..that's maybe one thing the world needs to find out.

Re: why do so many people hate Jehovah's Witnesses?
because there is strong evidence that it may be a false religion created to own the hearts and minds of the masses. It is used to subdue and enslave those who submit to it. Some say that reptilians may have manipulated mankind into creating religion in order to distract us away from our true potential and power which is inside our minds.

when a person submits to religion he thinks he is submitting to a God but he is actually not. He is in a sense delivering himself into the hands of the hidden reptilian deception agenda to control the minds of men.

they have reptilian hybrids amongst us that do all the legwork for the agenda. the true reptilians cannot show themselves otherwise the whole human race will realize that they are not free.

the fact is we were conquered a long time ago as a planet. the only reason why we don't know or remember any of this is because the reptilians erased our history, destroyed our once magnificent and beautiful cities and re-wrote our history for us. even the sciences and knowledge we are taught in schools are incomplete. we only know what they want us to know if it serves a purpose in the hidden reptilian agenda.

watch this video and see how they have managed to deceive us while remaining hidden in plain sight.

That is correct. Even their own blood because the Bible says not to. IMHO it is, biblically speaking, somewhat of a gray area, although their views are indeed justified. U
Ultimately its a matter of personal decision. Contrary to popular belief, no one is "pressured" into anything, for what its worth, I've witnessed such a situation personally.

Furthermore, top physicians will tell you flat out that they always take a blood transfusion as a last resort. Bloodless is the gold standard.

As someone who experienced the possibility of being allowed to die at the hands of my parents, I disagree with you. They ARE pressured into letting their children die, or else be 'disfellowshiped', ie ex-communicated. When I had an accident with a lawnmower at age 10, my parents were ready to let me die so that they wouldn't lose their group of friends at church. Thankfully I didn't lose too much blood, otherwise I wouldn't be here posting all this dirt on the JWs (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Inc.)

Have you ever thought why you havent lost a lot amount of blood? since your parents are JW's and God's guidance was with them as they have strong faith about thier God that why you are truly blessed. God knows thier hearts and God dint put them into the midst of confusion to sin themselves, that's why you are being saved from dying and that's one thing you should realized.

Re: why do so many people hate Jehovah's Witnesses?
1. because people hate that jesus knocked on doors and are too lazy to do it themselves, so witnesses make them look bad...

2. they don't know any witnesses personally...

3. they're miserable people who want to wallow in their own self-pity and don't want good-news to cheer them up...

4. they believe the zionist lies...

5. they believe darwin's lies that he came up with so he could shag his cousin...

6. they haven't REALLY read the bible...

7. they believe the pagan teachings that crept into christianity early on and can't accept that they're not even in the bible...[see no. 6]

want me to go on?

I like JW especially during Christmas holidays. They work so we can take holidays.

I have the same thoughts about Christmas as JW but I like the long holidays. Thank you God for inventing JW.

There are not the ones giving away planets right?lolsign

They're a cult. They don't believe that Jesus is God. Their founder was an ex-Freemason.

The REAL SWIFTY being pulled for so long is that Jehovah/Yahweh is ACTUALLY THE DEVIL himself.

HOW EVIL IS THAT ??

Re: why do so many people hate Jehovah's Witnesses?
Mum used to be a witness but she quit cause my dad hated it, but id say they're fairly harmless.

You find idiots in any religion, although the door knocking is pretty annoying..

But at least they dont worship a god whos gonna make good people suffer for all eternity just because they picked the wrong religion or grew up in the wrong area. (Nor do they follow idolatry, worship the pope or believe god is made up of 3 separate parts..)

That being said.. all im trying to justify is their intentions as opposed to more mainstream christianity or the mormons.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the messengers of the Bible. The words we speak come directly for God's word. We don't make these things up. Pay close attention to the what is going on around the world. It is prophesy being fufilled. Keep on the watch, because Jehovah's day is very near. This world cannot and will not continue in this wicked state it is in. Jehovah promised that!!!!!
