They obviously don't want to let it reach 7 billion mark. :)

here are more

1/14 = 0.0714285 714285 714285 714285 714285

1/19 = 0.052631578947368421 052631578947368421
1/21 = 0.047619 047619 047619 047619 047619

so the repetition occurs almost every time.
the greater the denominator the greater the no. of digits after which it will repeat(for prime no.).

Multiply 9 by any number and the value always is nine.

9x9=81 (8+1=(9}

9x283=2547 (2+5+4+7=18 1+8=(9)

9x3942578=35483202 (3+5+4+8+3+2+0+2=27 2+7=(9)

Before computers, i think that is how accountants would find errors and flaws and corruption in company books, not sure of the exact process, but that is what an old accountant told me years ago.
 Quoting: FHL(C)

It's true. When a particular account would get out of balance, the difference between dr and cr balances would give a clue as to where the mistake was made making it easier to find and correct. If the difference is divisible by 9, and there is only one error causing the problem, it's a slide or transposition error. Just one example. There are a lot of tricks like that for finding problems within the books.

Re: A Mathematical anomaly
Transpose any two consecutive digits of a number higher than 11, the difference between the original and the transposed number is always divisible by 9.

Furthermore, the difference between the transposed digits x 9 equals the actual difference of the numbers.

Example: 4873 - 4837 = 36

36/9 = 4
7-3 or 3-7 = 4

That's how an experienced accountant or bookkeeper look for a difference on their books before computerisation.

what if switch to a system with only seven numbers

(iow: 0123456/10,11,12,13,14,15,16/20,21,22,23,24,25,26/etc)

7 times 2 equals not 14 but 20

so...any anomolies here?

What is this ?

any one know ?
 Quoting: Number man 936558

I investigated that somewhat, since several years. The number 7 has been seen as a special, scared number for thousands of years for some reason.

Numbers have both quantitative qualitative aspects. They can be seen as quantity and as hieroglyphs, as you certainly know from Hebrew.

The characteristic you refer to is self-similarity, or fractality. Any number divided by seven gives a sequence of multiples of seven, with the action of One intermingled.

Look: 14-28-57 (56+1)...

Why 57 and not 56? Because of multi-dimensionality:

also 142-285(+1 again)-571(+1 gain) etc etc etc

7142857142857

1428-2857-5714 and so on and on.

Now try to create several layers and see how it goes:

Notation is difficult here, the numbers connect like fish scales or roof tiles:

85+85=170, so

84+1

71428571428
84
170
1

The future acts upon the past. In a certain way "Ehyeh asher ehyeh".

Do you grasp what I mean? I would need to consult my old notes to transmit this to you in a better way...
