It's true. When a particular account would get out of balance, the difference between dr and cr balances would give a clue as to where the mistake was made making it easier to find and correct. If the difference is divisible by 9, and there is only one error causing the problem, it's a slide or transposition error. Just one example. There are a lot of tricks like that for finding problems within the books.

I investigated that somewhat, since several years. The number 7 has been seen as a special, scared number for thousands of years for some reason.

Numbers have both quantitative qualitative aspects. They can be seen as quantity and as hieroglyphs, as you certainly know from Hebrew.

The characteristic you refer to is self-similarity, or fractality. Any number divided by seven gives a sequence of multiples of seven, with the action of One intermingled.
