The band scrounged up 600$ in 89' to record their first album Bleach. It started a fever in Japan and parts of Europe, but there was one song in particular that overshadowed the rest. With one song I think it was made obvious this 20 year old kid's ability to write melodic Beatlesesque pop hits. They say "Smells like Teen Spirit" was the song that changed the world, but before that there was "About a Girl" and it was already a huge part of Nirvana's musical arsenal when they signed to Geffen.
Quoting: veni vidi vicious"Smells Like Teen Spirit" is way overrated. About a Girl is great. Too bad their older songs didn't get as much airplay.
