"Under Ice"
[link to www.youtube.com]
The Ninth Wave (Hounds of Love)
Written by Kate Bush

It's wonderful.
Everywhere, so white.
The river has frozen over.
Not a soul on the ice.
Only me skating fast.
I'm speeding past trees,
Leaving little lines in the ice,
Splitting, splitting sound,
Silver heels spitting, spitting snow.

("Sonar says...[inaudible]...deep...[inaudible]")

There's something moving
Under, under the ice,
Moving under ice,
Through water,
Trying to get out of the cold water.
"It's me."
Something, someone--help them.
"It's me."

Re: Secrets of The Shining: Or How Faking the Moon Landings Nearly Cost Stanley Kubrick his Marriage and his Life. By Jay Weidner AND DAVID BOWIE MAJOR
The U.S. government hired director Stanley Kubrick to film the fake moon landing and, to protect the lives of himself and his wife, he made 1980's "The Shining" as a veiled confession of his part in the secret project. This would have seen Kubrick filming the landing conjointly with "2001: A Space Odyssey."

Shining-5 That's the argument Internet conspiracy theorist Jay Weidner makes on his webpage "Secrets of the Shining." Yes, all the new age advertisements, Egyptian fonts and Alex Grey illustrations along the rail make this a very hard sell on the discerning reader. But the whole theory (like the best of them) is strangely fascinating. Weidnere grasps onto various bits of imagery in the film and deviations from Stephen King's novel as Kubrick revealing his secrets to the unsuspecting audience.

The basic premise is that, in the film, the protagonist Jack Torrance and his son Danny both represent different aspects of Kubrick, the pragmatist and the artistic visionary. Jack (Kubrick's practical side) makes a deal with the manager of the Overlook Hotel (America) to protect it through the coming winter (the Cold War). Weidner also points out that the Overlook, like America, is new, garish and built on the bones of Indians.
All of this builds on the notion that the moon landings were faked as a show of strength to the Soviet Union. But Weidner waves his crackpot flag a little more fervently by stating it was all necessary to "hide the advanced U.S. saucer technology from the Soviet Union."

Consider the following additional evidence:

Room 237: In King's novel, the haunted room is numbered 217. In the movie, it's 237. Why? "Because the average distance from the Earth to the Moon is 237,000 miles." It's actually 238,857 miles, but close enough, right? Weidner proposes that the haunted room represents the filming of the faked moon landing itself. "It's just like pictures in a book, Danny. It isn't real."

Sweater The Twins: You probably remember the creepy twins from the film, the slain children of the previous Overlook caretaker. In King's novel, however, there was only one slain child. Weidner insists that Kubrick's alteration is a nod to NASA's previous Gemini (Get it? twins!) program. Given the genuinely creepy nature of this scene, you might not have noticed that Danny is in fact wearing an "Apollo 11" sweater. It's easy to get caught up on that last little factoid. View it here.

The Bears: The film features a large number of stuffed bears and, in one disturbing scene, Danny witnesses a man cavorting in a hotel room with a stranger in a horrifying bear suit. (Sheer nightmare juice!) Follow the conspiracy argument and all these bears, naturally, represent the looming Soviet threat.

The Typewriter: In one scene, the film reveals that Jack has been typing "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" over and over again. In one of Weidner's more, um, far-fetched moments, he proposes that "all" should actually be read "A11" for Apollo 11.

The Dead Guy: In King's novel, Danny sends a psychic distress signal to the hotel's elderly black chef Dick Haloran -- and Haloran lives to escape the Overlook with the child and his mother. In the movie, however, the Overlook uses Jack to kill Haloran pretty much the second he arrives on the scene to save everyone. The reason for this alteration? Weidner insists that Kubrick wanted to tell the world that he had naively tried to tip someone off about his role in the moon landing hoax -- and his doing so resulted in their murder. Worried for his own life and that of his wife, Kubrick had to reveal the secret both widely and clandestinely to protect himself.

So there you have it. Are you won over by any of this and, if so, do you agree that "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" actually reveals the secrets of the Kennedy assassination cover-up?

Either way, I'll never view this film the same way again. You can view the original film trailer here.

But why would Kubrick make a mistake like the inconsistent shadows in the above image? A great filmmaker like Kubrick must have realized that this was a huge mistake.

My answer is that Kubrick did this on purpose.

n the film 'Wag the Dog' Dustin Hoffman plays a movie producer hired by the CIA to 'fake an event'. His name in the movie is Stanley. In that movie 'Stanley' mysteriously dies after telling everyone that he wants to take credit for the 'event' that he helped fake.

Stanley Kubrick died soon after showing Eyes Wide Shut to the executives at Warner Brothers. It is rumored that they were very upset concerning that film. They wanted Kubrick to re-edit the film but he refused. I personally was in France when Stanley died and I saw, on French television, outtakes from the forthcoming Eyes Wide Shut. I saw outtakes from several scenes that were never in the finished film.

Warner Brothers has even come out and admitted that they re-edited the film. To this day they refuse to release a DVD of Stanley Kubrick's cut. Not only is this a direct violation of the agreement that Kubrick had with Warner Brothers but also it means that we will probably never see the un-edited version of this film.

One has to wonder what was cut out?

And finally:

Eyes Wide Shut was released on July 16 th 1999.

Stanley Kubrick insisted in his contract that this be the date of the release.

July 16 th 1999 is exactly 30 years to the day that Apollo 11 was launched.

Happy Fortieth Anniversary Stanley. Now you can rest in peace.

Bowie planned the writing and release of Space Oddity to coincide with the BBC's live media coverage of the launch of the US's Apollo 11 moon landing mission.

"Space Oddity" - David Bowie, 1969 (folk rock)
Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you

(spoken)
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff

This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

"This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today

For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much she knows"

Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....

"Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do."

The song's main character, Major Tom, is a fictional astronaut and the story the song tells is that he gets lost in space. The song was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Bowie planned the writing and release of Space Oddity to coincide with the BBC's media coverage of the launch of the US's Apollo 11 moon landing mission. See...not everything is about war and politics.

Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the moon, launched on July 16, 1969. It was this flight that made history forever and reached Pres. John F. Kennedy's goal when he said, "I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth." On July 20, Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin and Neil Alden Armstrong walked on the moon's surface while lunar command module captain, Michael Collins, orbited above.

It was this lunar landing where Neil Armstrong uttered the very famous words, "Houston, Tranquility Base, here. The Eagle has landed." However, unbeknownst to most people, when Armstrong spoke those words, he through Mission Control into somewhat of a tizzy...because nobody at Mission Control had no idea what he was talking about at first.

The call sign Armstrong was supposed to use was Eagle, which was the name of the lunar module (LEM) that actually landed on the moon's surface - the vehicle that carried the two astronauts. It was given the name Eagle because of the bald eagle insignia that it carried. There were actually a few other call signs that NASA toyed with during the planning. Thankfully, the call signs Snowcone and Haystack were quickly changed before being announced to the press.

Tranquility Base, the name Armstrong gave to the Eagle's landing site, was a spot in the southwestern corner of the lunar plain called The Sea of Tranquility, near the craters Sabine and Ritter. The Sea of Tranquility is the name of one a lunar mare (latin for 'sea'). They were called 'seas' by the early astronomers who mistoook them for actual water seas. However, they are not water seas but basaltic plains formed by ancient volcanic eruptions.

During space travel, call signs are given to people and vehicles...never landmarks. However, unlike most names bestowed upon lunar landmarks, in the light of the Apollo 11 mission's huge history-setting success, the designation Tranquility Base was soon officially recognized by NASA and the International Astronomical Union. Because of those famous Armstrong words, Tranquility Base now appears on lunar maps as Statio Tranquillitatis.

And while Neil Armstrong went down in history for his famous, albeit erroneous quote, somehow Houston's response got lost in the shuffle:

Capcom Charles Duke: "Roger, Twan... [correcting himself] Tranquility. We copy you on the ground. You got a bunch of guys about to turn blue. We're breathing again. Thanks a lot."

Hey, give the guy a break. He was probably excited. And he had every reason to be because his space flight didn't turn out like Major Tom's. Nope...they saved that for the sequel - Apollo 13.

Well, do you think the missing footage is something obvious or is it just symbollic references? I doubt it would be just references because films are full of them anyway... it would have to be something more directly antagonistic to the ptb, so clear even the general audiences would pick up on it?

My guess it would be the elites, clearly channelling entities... which would be definately troubling in a Kubrik film that is talking about modern day society.

That is, he quotes me when he's not too busy responding to his own posts. You have to wonder about a thread where about 75-80% of the real estate is made up of OP's own posts.

A "veiled confession" is sticking an eagle behind a guy dressed in red, white, and blue? How exactly could Kubrick have been MORE obvious (if that was indeed what he intended to symbolize?) Have the guy march up and down singing "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" throughout the scene?

He can broadcast from the top of the Empire State Building with a megaphone for all I care. That website of his is a travesty and frankly I would've thought "Coast to Coast" would have higher standards than that.

Although actually the "Coast to Coast" host had the temerity to appear in that Lindsay Lohan debacle, "I Know Who Killed Me". And yet still, amazingly, he retains balls big enough to grant a soapbox to delusional individuals who would sully the good name of one of Our Greatest Filmmakers of All Time...

By the Laws of Retroactive Humility he should plummet to the floor, fully prostrate, in total deferrance at even the most subtle utterance of Kubrick's name.

I'm still trying to think of the reasoning behind this. So...Kubrick decides to go up against a massive government conspiracy by filling his next films with trite, first-year film school symbolism? What was the point; that every slacker and would-be auteur with a rewind button on their Betamax would then know of government malfeasance? As if that breed wouldn't have lost trust in the government years ago?

And...so the government suspects Kubrick might welsh on the deal. They threaten his family. Then they bankroll him on a film or two...Kubrick, with his eagle eye for every single detail, and his careful use of language and symbolism. Right...hire a great film-maker, then five years later forget ENTIRELY half the reason he is considered great?

So the all-powerful, all-seeing conspiracy sits back and lets him put whatever he wants into his next film without even thinking of asking to review the script, or the final cut?

What, do you think ONLY conspiracy nuts go to film school? Who do you think is making propaganda films? You mean to say they couldn't come up with ONE GUY, one "code talker" for the language of film, to sit down for a screening and notice the obvious?

But let's move beyond this for a moment. Assume for a moment Kubrick did have an inside track to a massive conspiracy. Assume he turned all of his fabled wits towards revealing the truth, taking down the men responsible, and protecting his family.

What, then, have we learned via the eagle eyes of Jay Wiedner? Have we learned who signed the orders? Do we know where any of the bodies are buried? Do we know where the money went? Do we, in short, have one, single solitary FACT of the kind that men go undercover for, spies are paid for, and Mafia bosses go to prison for?

NO! We know SHIT from this opus minum. Kubrick hasn't even managed to show us how he faked low gravity, or where he filmed. He hasn't fingered a single individual. And he is miles away from any actual smoking gun.

All that effort, and at the end of it, anyone who already believed that Kubrick filmed a fake moon landing still believes that Kubrick filmed a fake moon landing. They are not one single step closer to taking it to court.

He was much more sophisticated an image-maker than that. It actually degrades his quality of a visual stylist to infer he'd resort to anything so...well, obvious.

If Kubrick was going to come up with a "symbol" for America it would be something MUCH MORE deep and cynical. I think Slim Pickens riding a nuclear bomb like a rodeo star is a far better example of his mettle as an image-maker.

An Eagle behind a guy's head is film-school.

 Quoting: "...Sing, I'll sway.

Um i think you're embarrassing yourself here. As if Kubrik's sole intention in making films is to show how 'clever' HE is. That's not really how it works.

The Apollo shirt, room 237, A11 etc is a pretty compelling case. Far more than simply 'over interpreting' a few elements.

The USA symbolism throughout is fairly clear and if it's not linked to the space program, then i'm not sure it has any relevance at all to anything considering the film's narrative.

A dude goes nuts from isolation, a haunted house gets him to try kill his family. If there isn't much more then that to the film, then Kubrik went from artist to a B-grade horror director for no reason at all.

Well ,well , well, how foolish of you!!

It was never about taking it to court, it was and is still about the truth, and it is about the public knowing the truth.
That truth and public awareness was the protection, because all this was going to be let loose earlier if needs arose,if it went beyong stanley (there were gaurdians who knew what to do )-, and in turn the truth would have and still will, ultimately lead to the discrediting of the deception.

Interesting. I had a feeling it was "Jay", actually.

Whoever it is, he's certainly an "internet coward".

Quotin' me but not responding....

OP,

this is a lost battle , it will remain a woo woo topic on a conspiracy forum..

the sheople will never ever be led in on this in any way.. the famous phrase " I want to beleive" will remain a famopus phrase..

untill you or anyone else decide to really let the cat out of the bag nothing will ever happen.. and quoting a good friend of mine who is no longer around..." mate it's already gone dangerous"

ciao

"The Kick Inside"

The Kick Inside
Written by Kate Bush

I've pulled down my lace and the chintz.
Oh, do you know you have the face of a genius?
I'll send your love to Zeus.
Oh, by the time you read this,
I'll be well in touch.

I'm giving it all in a moment or two.
I'm giving it all in a moment, for you.
I'm giving it all, giving it, giving it.
This kicking here inside
Makes me leave you behind.
No more under the quilt
To keep you warm.
Your sister I was born.
You must lose me like an arrow,
Shot into the killer storm.

You and me on the bobbing knee.
Didn't we cry at that old mythology he'd read!
I will come home again, but not until
The sun and the moon meet on yon hill.

[This song is also known in an early demo version, perhaps dating from between 1973 and 1976, which features a few alternate lines:]

I've pulled down my lace and the chintz.
Oh, do you know? You have the face of a genius.
I'll send your love to Zeus.
Oh, by the time you read this,
I'll be well in touch.

I'm giving it all in a moment for you.
I'm giving it all in a moment or two.
I'm giving it all, giving it, giving it.
The kicking here inside
Makes me leave you behind.
No more under the quilt
To keep you warm.
Your sister I was born. Lose me.
You must lose me like an arrow,
Shot into the killer storm.

You and me on the bobbing knee--
Welling eyes from identifying with Lizzy Wan's story.
I will come home again, but not until
The sun and the moon meet on yon hill.

I'm giving it all in a moment for you.
I'm giving it all in a moment or two.
I'm giving it all, giving it, giving it, giving it, giving it!
The kicking here inside
Makes me leave you behind.
No more under the quilt
To keep you warm.
Your sister I was born. Lose me.
You must lose me like an arrow,
Shot into the killer storm.

it would be good to no why the US space missions never managed to locate the water that is now confirmed as fact by those probes. Its evidently very visible at the moons surface. Where were those astronauts? how's it not possible to see something staring you in the face. And the moon rocks brought to earth were no indication either.
