Dow Industrials Start Above 11000 first time since 2008
The Dow Jones Industrial Average opened above 11000 for the first time since September 2008 as optimism rose over the upcoming earnings season and confidence in the global economy strengthened after European leaders pledged to extend aid to Greece.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 19 points, or 0.2%, to 11017 in early trading. The measure hit 11000 on Friday for the first time since September 2008. Caterpillar was the measure's strongest component, up 1.3%. Bank of America also rose 0.7%. Alcoa strengthened 0.6%, ahead of its earnings announcement after the bell closes on Monday.

Re: Dow Industrials Start Above 11000 first time since 2008
As I stated back when the dow was in the 9000's, it will go to 11500 - 12000 and begin its dramatic decline. I believe its gonna take another year to a year and a half to reach the 12000 mark. Will have many up and downs along the way. So enjoy the ride while it last. If you look at a maxiumum graph for the dow you will see a well defined head and shoulder pattern developing. From there you can extrapolate when the decline will happen. It will be slow at first, taking its time going back down to 10000, then it will be rapid. So if you see the Dow declining after it reaches 11500 -12000 get stocked up on necessities. Although the head and shoulder pattern isn't 100% correct it has its merits. If the Dow continues to climb after 12000 then its anybody's guess. Also factor in the value of the dollar. If the dollar declines then the dow looks artificially elevated.
