No, I do not mean that. According to the DSM, sociopaths come in all varieties, not just the most extreme kind. The coworker who gossips and manipulates, the backstabbers who lie on purpose, the lover who exploits, can all be sociopaths. The one thing they all have in common: a complete lack of conscience and remorse for what they do.

So, you have 3 - 5% who are full-bore evil, 90% who are just apathetic or self-centered, and the other tiny 5% or so who live by character or principles.

sociopaths are around 5% and psycopaths are about 1% of the general population.

The cluster B personality disorders are the most difficult because the psycopaths in particular are non treatable and they are incredibly destructive.

Sadly the terms sociopath and psycopath are used almost interchangeably and worse still they are often used by normal people to describe others who are less than normal (but not necessarily evil or bad)

Fortunately science seems to be cracking the code for personality disorders with researchers isolating particular genes which seem to predispose individuals to this condition. Also medical imaging is revealing differences between regular people's brains and those who are personality disordered.

While it won't stop "bad behaviour", in the broader community - it will be a HUGE leap forward when we will be able to unmask and weed out the truly evil from society in general, before they have a chance to be.

So if the mass says evil is good is it? It's hard to go against the grain, you'll rub people the wrong way because your outside the social norms. Just because your'e not morally aware of the implications of your actions doesn't nullify the aspects of whether these are right/wrong or good/evil actions.

To some degree it doesn't even take actions, just thought can be considered outside of the socailly recognized norm and thus condemned by society.

With us having established that it many circumstances all it takes is thoughts and intent to be considered heinous and evil by social standards that you eximplify by your own dogma, we can therefore conclude that all people have or had evil and heinous thoughts at one time or another, as this is normal, I conclude that everyone has at some time or currently does qualify for evil.

The bad ones are actually minority in numbers. But if the majority don't do anything to correct them (the bad), the majority will be inflicted and influenced in many ways and they themselves will suffer and/or become evil as well. You are either a follower or a leader (general terms). So, figure that out. "Environment" that you are in is very powerful. If it is good, everything will be good and if it is bad, everything in it will be bad. If you are weak then you will be controlled by it.
