Spear of Destiny
I am researching the story of the Spear of Christ, also known as the Spear of Destiny, or the Holy Lance. I would like to connect with individuals, or groups, that are still looking for the Spear. I want to find out the latest information on the Spear, its true location and its ultimate mission in today’s world. I am researching who is still on the quest for the Spear and why.

Thank you so very much,

Re: Spear of Destiny
I've seen the one on display in Vienna. I'm pretty sure that's not the original.

Re: Spear of Destiny
Why do peeps want these items? Do they really think they have special powers they can use? If they did or do have any special powers, only certain peeps could command them and those hell bent on controlling everything, would not be able to command the Power within. ;)

So what's your interest in this item?

Re: Spear of Destiny
This is what I have on the alleged spear the last time I was looking into it!!

Spear of Longinus aka Spear of Destiny

The spear that the Roman soldier Longinus pierced the side of Christ with. This spear is attributed with legendary powers. According to the legend associated with the Spear of Longinus, the claimant to this talisman of power has a choice between the service of two opposing Spirits in the fulfillment of his world-historic aim- a Good and an Evil Spirit.

Those known to have possessed the spear

385 AD: Theodosius tamed the Goths with it.

410 AD: Alaric The Bold, the savage convert to Christianity who claimed the spear after he had sacked Rome.

452 AD: Aetius, 'the last of the Romans' and the mighty Visigoth Theodoric, who rallied Gaul with the spear to vanquish the barbaric hordes at Troyes and turn back the ferocious Atilla The Hun.

527-534 AD: Justinian, the absolutist and ecclesiastical bigot, who re-conquered the territories of the old Roman Empire, and gave his people the famous 'Codex Juris' had placed the confidence of his great destiny on the spear.

732 AD: The mystical talisman had become an actual weapon of the hands of the Frankish General Karl Martel (the Hammer) when he led his army to gain a miraculous victory over the massed forces of the Arabs at Poiters.

800 AD: Charlemagne, the first Holy Roman Emperor, had founded his whole dynasty on the possession of the spear and its legend of world-historic destiny - a legend which attracted the greatest scholars in all Europe to serve the civilizing power of the Frankish cause. Charlemagne had fought 47 campaigns with the assurance of its victorious powers.

962-973 AD: Otto The Great

Seven of the Hohenstauffens of Swabia

1152 AD: Frederick Barbarossa and Frederick II, his grandson.

1803: Napoleon tried to seize the spear but it was removed by the Germanenorden out of Nuremberg before the emperor could get his hands on it.

Altogether 45 emperors had claimed the spear of Destiny as their possession between the coronation in Rome of Charlemagne and the fall of the old German Empire exactly a thousands years later.
