how do they know information like this? Is there a large population center near them? When was the last time you met someone from Iceland? I can't imagine there were many more people there 1000 years ago.

Eh, I live in the AZ desert. Not looking forward to the 110-115 degree summer.

A three month deep freeze would be nice from say, June-September...

I don't get the comment about the world going into a deep freeze. How do they qualify that?

I mean, if Katla last erupted in the 1800's, how come we didn't go into a deep freeze then?
