HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?

I'm talking to rich Christians mainly. To those of the Jewish and Muslim faiths too.


Really, what has all of the fancy thing you have around gotten you? Are you any better in the eyes of people around you? How have you obtained your wealth?

Between Wall Street, K Street, the Capitol. Goldman Sachs, Monsanto, etc. Take your pick it's all come down to greed, keeping up, i have to have that, new toys (for old and young).

Where has that gotten us? I tell you utter dispair. If not you then someone around you.

Tell me, are the extra cars worth it, the extra bedroom, the newest kitchen when down the street there are people just making it? When is the last time someone said can I help. Not with pennies of what you are worth, but a REAL SACRIFICE that affects your lifestyle in a major way and gave it away to someone in need.

The Lord said it like this:

Luke 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

Luke 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

Luke 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, [and] be merry.

Luke 12:20 But God said unto him, [Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Luke 12:21 So [is] he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.


No wonder one of the curses of Malachi is in effect




Malachi 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.
