Note to Documentary Makers: Turn the Background Music DOWN, Please!
when you make a documentary or movie or vid for the web, please TURN THE MUSIC DOWN so we can hear the dialogue. The music is NOT supposed to be at the same level as the talking because then you CANNOT hear the talking without straining. I've seen a number of otherwise good documentaries that were ruined because the background music was TOO LOUD. An example is the pinned movie thread right now (Old World Secrets). I had to turn it off after 1 minute because the background music is TOO LOUD. The music should only be at about 1/3 or 1/4 the volume of the dialogue. Sure, from time to time in the doc you can turn it up for a few moments for effect, but it should normally NOT BE COMPETING with the dialogue.

rant off. thank you for listening.

Many of them do it on purpose.... it is a mind control technic. The rest just follow thinking that is "cool".
I agree with you totally: I turn off the vid after the first minute if it has loud/disturbing background music.

And please when pasting from different videos make an effort to get dialogue volumes the same or at least close.
Doesn't deserve it's own thread so I'll add it here, Thanks OP.
