Still doing calculations, I usually do quite well on Derby...The weather looks like it's going to fuck things up though! I hope to post my bets tomorrow or even Saturday morning but sometimes I don't decide until I'm there at Churchill Downs watching the weather and such...

$1 superfecta box ($24) 1-4-11-17 . I am pretty much throwing out all of west coasters who have not run on Dirt well yet in their careers (such as #20 Sidney's Candy). I like Jackson Bend and line of David Also So ai m probably going to through them into a another superfecta. Wide open race without Eskendereya.

On a dry track I like Stately Victor based on his Blue Grass Stakes run.

On a wet track I like Ice Box or Lookin at Lucky because the sprinters will have a disadvantage.

Good mudders are one thing but how do they perform in a tornado? This Derby is going to be interesting if the forecast is correct!

Re: Kentucky Derby - Lets talk lets bet
I wonder how many broken legs accidents they'll have this yr.
They really need to start thinking about either resurfacing the track or the breeders need to go back to basics. Those horses are still young to be taking all of that hard pounding on those tracks when they're just 2 yrs old. They still need another yr to grow into their legs and develop some real bone density.

And besides, now that Big Brown has retired to stud, he's gonna pass on those bad feet to his offspring unless they can find mares with good feet who might be able to counteract that.

In the end, the breeders crank out those horses like a puppy mill. and most of them who start racing careers wind up in a bag of dog food. Ferdinand was the Kentucky Derby winner in 1986.

It's BS because the horses never stand a real chance and it's just an opportunity to make money for some rich SOB who doesn't give a damn. Like Kevin Trudeau always says, "It's all about the money."

Oh , I hope not!!!
It was sad enough watching 10 Bells break down and have to be put down, I don't want to see 3 of them suffer that fate!
It would be awful!... :(

They have had to scratch a couple of early fav.s this year though, I think there were 2 this week that messed themselves up during works outs, had to be taken out of the race...

I just looked at the horses and their records. most of them, if not all of them, have never run on dirt tracks. That right there is a big factor. Like I said earlier, The owners of this track will possibly have to think on resurfacing it for the horses' safety.

Watch it will be a nobody horse who wins this year.
