Perchance that has as much to do with America as with the Dutch.
If you ask people the world over if they have a favourable opinion of the US, America only scores better then Israel, Iran, and North-Korea.

When I was over there visiting my husband, my politics were all backwards. I had to relearn terminology.

If the Dutch are anything, they are aware! They love to play devil's advocate and they love to debate issues. I was in an Irish pub in Utrecht having a discussion about politics with half the bar and dining room. It was totally awesome!

I love the Dutch. They are not many, but they have killed some mighty dragons through-out history.

WWII and holding out six days against the Germans until Hitler had Rotterdam bombed, comes to mind.
