Mopar28, good to see you again.

Life is funny, no? I got home from work today and my wife had a song "I had to listen too!"..

...I was going to post a thread on it as I had never heard it and thought it to be appropriet but I got wrapped up in Daj's thread and didn't...

...then I see your thread.

serendipity I suppose.

Mopar, I'm not into organized religion or country music (I am into tolerance, though), but it's beyond me why this song would be slated for banning.

Do you know why they're doing this? Not that there's any good reason to do so, for cryin' outloud.

Good grief. There's scores of people in our country who would find comfort and fellowship through this song...hmmm, could that be a/the problem?

It is amazing to think that TPTB would want to band this...
this is what they strive for.. to keep up from questioning life.

To be P.C. (politically correct), they don't want to upset the melting pot of religions that we have in this country. (christians, aethiests, Jews, muslims, hindus, etc.)

Remember, that the 10 commandments are being removed from our public buildings. Prayer is no longer allowed in school, the Pledge of Allegiance is no longer said in most schools (my daughters school still does it).

And they wonder why there is so much violence in this world we live in.

Maybe it's "banned" because it's shitty music.

Nice song.

The Angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear
Him, And delivers them.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man/woman who trusts in Him!

(Ps 34.7-8)

The promises will "NEVER" be banned.

God Bless us

Hopefully NOT religion's god...She's a real biotch <imo>
We get the powers over us that we've earned collectively. Humanity, as a whole, is self-interested, shallow, ignorant, violent and immoral; small wonder, therefore, that our leaders (secret or otherwise) reflect that. You want better leaders, become better people.

I've heard it on the radio...guess it isn't banned here. It certainly isn't politically correct.

Re: Banned Diamond Rio Song
I seriously DOUBT there was any systematic effort to ban this song. The song was first released on a Greatest Hits, Volume 2 album released in 2006 which means it was actually RECORDED earlier than that. SO, the song's been banned for nearly 5 years? PLEASE. Diamond Rio is trying to create a buzz, they also released the song on an album released Sept, 2009.

Perhaps they're having trouble finding an audience.
Finally, as a historian, I've studied how organized religions worldwide have murdered millions in the world's history.

The BS about a banned song contributes to that history.

If it were a song about blasphemy it would be #1. The reporting stations have well funded deep pockets behind them.
