whether you youngsters realize it or not the hippies had a lot to do with changing this world for the better

they were involved in or the inspiration for one civil rights movement, anti-war movement, or progressive movement after another -- and i did not say liberal -- i said progressive -- like out of the dark ages like getting folks equal pay for equal work, or helping blacks get the vote, or the unions, or stopping the damn draft (and that's why you ass got saved), etc.

yes, many of those movements were compromised and defused by infiltrators and hippies were branded by the media as nothing but being lazy, into free love, and drugs

i have met two of the Apple guys, one used to be my neighbor

hippies gave you yuppies and the baby boomers which gave you much of the damn digital tech, green tech, health food, animal rights, whole fields of academic knowledge, motorcycles, music, and lots of other stuff you love

I was a hippie but sans/drugs. Those were wild days and surprised more of us didn't get shot.

Don't know what the hell is wrong with these new generations waiting for us to do it again. Many of the town halls/Tea Party people/patriots are white hairs - probably past hippies.
