When I comptemplate the magnitude of the utter clusterfuck in the gulf, I recall learning about prehistoric times in school. Tarpits, toxic clouds, volcanoes, burning lakes and acid pools. It seems to me we are dealing with what could lead to another age like prehistoric times. At the least turning the gulf into a toxic tarpit cesspool, worse the planets oceans, worst, global air content changes with methane to cause suffocation and explosions.

When the first few oil storms hit the coast, and there is a fire, all the oil soaked buildings, homes, cars, trees, will be incinerated, leaving a charred wasteland behind. As another poster said,...this is it.

Agreed. The planet will continue to react to the cosmic energies in ways we can't comprehend.

Like it always has throughout it's existence.

Is this actually possible? I could understand an oil-soaked tidal surge, but oil storms?

Oil doesn't evaporate like water. Wouldn't a hurricane just pick up evaporating water, leaving the oil behind?

I am neither a chemist or meteorologist, so this is less a claim of fact as a question to the GLP community.
