I did see Citizen Kane, but don't remember much. I was around 11 years old at the time. Is it worth watching again? |

Kane had to start the applause which was weak and lasted about 10 seconds. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 574639Posting this means the guy said something stupid, but since he's your friend you feel obliged to back him up anyway. I'm not so sure too many of you people understand that. ![]() No one likes a smart ass. |

In the film, and at face value it's a child'ssled. But Citizen Kane was a parody of William Randoplh Hearst. Hearst's love was Marion Davies, an actress and commedienne. Hearst referred to her pussy as "Rosebud". So Kane's reference was a jab at Hearst's very private life. |

Life in Lubbock, Texas, taught me two things: One is that God loves you and you're going to burn in hell. The other is that sex is the most awful, filthy thing on earth and you should save it for someone you love. ~Butch Hancock |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 966298 05/10/2010 09:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Great film you can watch many times. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 742489Yes, but Citizen Kane is NOT a great film. It's about as boring as it gets. I have seen The Magnificent Seven perhaps 15-20 times. THAT is a great film. I'm not being a smart ass, but Magnificent Seven is an American copy of a Japanese film in Black and White called "The Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa. You can borrow it from most libraries. It's in Japanese with subtitles, but as films go it is really good. Good story, action and character development. Give it a chance. There's another one that's a version of Macbeth called "Throne of Blood". B&W but lots of Samurai fighting. Pretty good and in most libraries. |
