Have any of you people ever actualy seen Citizen Kane?

Hmmm - I sort of wondered about that icon- by the expression on his face, it would seem that he is clapping in a mocking/sarcastic way.

I did see Citizen Kane, but don't remember much. I was around 11 years old at the time.

Is it worth watching again?

It's always # 1 in the lists of best movies ever. I watched it a couple of years ago and thought it was really lame. Maybe it was good for it's time (?)

It is a cinema masterpiece, with break-through technical photography.

However with that narrator screaming at me, I have never watched it all the way through.

In the film, and at face value it's a child'ssled.

But Citizen Kane was a parody of William Randoplh Hearst.

Hearst's love was Marion Davies, an actress and commedienne. Hearst referred to her pussy as "Rosebud". So Kane's reference was a jab at Hearst's very private life.

you could look at this in a few different ways OP.
kane was w.r. hearst the propaganda king. by him clapping like he did, he got the rest of the sheep to clap as well, even though nobody should have.
every time you watch this amazing film, more comes to light.

I have watched CK and its a great film

I have seen The Magnificent Seven perhaps 15-20 times.

THAT is a great film.

No but I saw Big Daddy Kane in the 80's

I have it in my collecton. Good film, I think it is a bit overrated but I still like it.

I'm not being a smart ass, but Magnificent Seven is an American copy of a Japanese film in Black and White called "The Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa.

You can borrow it from most libraries.

It's in Japanese with subtitles, but as films go it is really good.

Good story, action and character development.

Give it a chance.

There's another one that's a version of Macbeth called "Throne of Blood". B&W but lots of Samurai fighting. Pretty good and in most libraries.
