for one-stop needs for details and interpretation of the bill passages from legalese to everyday speak, you can use this site :

[link to www.urbanfarmhub.org]

and from a link from within that site, demonstrates how nicely the bill accommodates interpretation of legalese to criminalize anything. one of the stunts pulled is, reclassifying 'seed' as 'food'.

Re: S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, the most dangerous bill in the history of the US
they are defining 'five pillars of safety' with this attempt, ironically, the three of them are BANNED in europe.

hormones, antibiotics, for example, are 'pillars of safety'. however, any product that is created by using them are banned from Eu. us, and canada says that they arent harmful.

None of the five substances is proved to be safe as required under the Food and Drugs Act of either U.S. or Canada. However, the first three of these products, i.e. hormones, antibiotics and slaughterhouse wastes, are unequivocally banned to be utilized in food production throughout the European Union countries. Consequently, U.S. and Canadian beef is not allowed to be imported into EU countries. However, the U.S. and Canadian regulatory authorities argue that the incriminating substances pose no risk to human health. Therefore, the issue is being contested before the World Trade Organization for approximately the last two decades.

Re: S 510, the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010, the most dangerous bill in the history of the US
another fantastic facet of this charade is that,

the guy who monsanto wanted on top of this agency and obama appointed, engineered the UNREGULATED genetically modified food rules. but, this guy is going to REGULATE all farming.

now, if food safety is required, why are genetically modified produce, which is monsanto's business unregulated ?

if food safety can happen without proper regulation, why is farming and dairy sector is going to be regulated ?

and why the hell, are stuff banned in europe due to dangers, are considered as 'pillars' of food safety ? i mean, hormones ?

SO, since we are getting ever closer, I hope that people are seeing the BIGGER PICTURE here, and can now clearly understand that the atheists are the ones who are helping this all along - like an ox being led to the slaughterhouse.

Rev 13:16 And it causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark on their right hand, or in their foreheads,
Rev 13:17 even that not any might buy or sell except those having the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of its name.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! Call upon the Almighty while He is still listening!!! When the tribulation period begins, if you have not begun to Keep YHWH's commandments and seek His face to please Him, you will NOT be able to resist the MARK that is coming... Just HUMBLE yourself in your closet and CRY OUT TO HIM TO SHOW YOU THE WAY! You CANNOT resist the Mark unless you are keeping His commandments! (I cry and pray for your souls!)

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of YHWH, and have the testimony of Yahushua the Messiah.

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YHWH, and the faith of Yahushua.

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

It's been extremely interesting watching this conversation develop and VERY refreshing that it's stayed an intelligent, respectful one for so long. I can see aspects from both of your perspectives, both of which have truths, but I honestly think that you, Ireland, are getting too wrapped up in the minutiae of the title. We all post threads that are wide open to interpretation, the basic "idea" behind the thread is what we normally want to discuss. But I'm not in a position to comment on the thread as I haven't done enough looking into it. But, a great thread and a great debate so far. Respect. hf

I haven't yet read the whole bill, but there's this--

TITLE I--FOOD SAFETY

Subtitle A--Prevention

SEC. 101. CHANGES IN REGISTRATION OF FOOD FACILITIES.

(a) Misbranding- Section 403 (21 U.S.C. 343) is amended by adding at the end the following:

‘(z) If it was manufactured, processed, packed, or held in a facility that is not duly registered under section 415, including a facility whose registration is canceled or suspended under such section.’.

(b) Annual Registration-

(1) DEFINITION OF FACILITY- Paragraph (1) of section 415(b) (21 U.S.C. 350d(b)) is amended to read as follows:

‘(1)(A) The term ‘facility’ means any factory, warehouse, or establishment (including a factory, warehouse, or establishment of an importer) that manufactures, processes, packs, or holds food.

‘(B) Such term does not include farms; private residences of individuals; restaurants; other retail food establishments; nonprofit food establishments in which food is prepared for or served directly to the consumer; or fishing vessels (except such vessels engaged in processing as defined in section 123.3(k) of title 21, Code of Federal Regulations, or any successor regulations).

Unless there's other verbage in the bill that states those not required to register per this Title I Subtitle A is mentioned, then private farming is not included.

If private farms/growers/gardeners are not required to register, then how are they implicated in the Bill's activities?

And I'm not posting this as a debunker, I just want to understand.

And, yes, I see where the author states--

1. It puts all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or an ill-defined emergency. It resembles the Kissinger Plan.

--and I haven't gotten that far, but it would've behooved the author to cite specific parts of the Bill that would enact as much. And, actually, I don't necessarily doubt that it's untrue, but to be truly affective in his efforts he should've cited specifics, if even only by numbers, --+with all of his points.

The opening quote in my post from the author (quoting someone else) flat out claims that the Bill would preclude the public's right to grow...etc., yet this would only be true under what would purportedly be considered a dire circumstance. And, again, I'm not beyond thinking that some kind of dire circumstance couldn't be "created" by TPTB, but the author's opening verbage - the grabber - is misleading.

And, anyway, I think that even if this stipulation about Homeland Security hadn't been included, in the case of some kind of "contamination or ill-defined emergency" they would act with all their authority anyway...and of course in whatever way they deem necessary.

I'll tell you what, though, how they'll seize control of people growing beans in their backyard, much less in their basements under growlights, I have no clue. Hell, they can't control people growing marijuana for cryin' outloud.

it is traditionally the duty and honor of the right wing in usa to push for corporate screw-up of the people.

it doesnt matter whether a few democrat senators are found, or some prominent democrat figures get involved, or there are rotten democrats as rotten as republicans in democrat party.

the thing is that, the source and also target of all the private interest lobby filth is republican party. and the traction behind any such filth is also republican party. this goes for the 2006 attack on network neutrality, ACTA, and this bill.

once such a rotten group of private interest puppets are there (to the extent of opposing a bill that would prevent rapes of u.s. overseas contractors because it would 'regulate business'), corrupting the rest is much easier.

What I want to know is WHY are they doing this?

People get sick now from mass produced food that is sold at every supermarket.

It has to be about money because people don't get sick from their neighbors farms. People get sick from food that is already supposed to be overseen by the government.

They can't do their jobs now and they want to regulate my neighbor who sells tomatoes during the summer at a stand in front of their house.

Why don't they do their job and get people to stop shitting on produce that is being sold on the mass market?

Every corrupt thing in this world has materialized because of money.

Fuck them. I hope every single person who passes this bill ingests the bacteria infested food the are dictating that we have to buy.
