A hitchhiker said "The lips are on the horn"
Last year, around the third week of March, 2009, a woman was traveling along a highway and saw a hitchhiker. She felt compelled to pick the man up. There conversation turned to God and he said, "The lips are on the horn." and disappeared from a moving car. She went off the side of the road and a state patrolman saw her and pulled her over. She told him the story and he told her that she had been the sixth person to tell him the same story. This happened in Maryland.

My daughter that lives in Charleston heard a similar story but the woman was from Southern West Virginia.

Both woman are not quick to make up lies or try to get attention. I want to know if anyone else has heard of a similar story and when it happened.

I know some of you will think that this is an "urban legend" or made up but it's not. I just want to know if you have had this experience or know someone who has. Thanks

You misunderstood, these were women who told this story NOT preacher! The one story was repeated by women in the church who knew the lady it happened to. The other was told to me at work. This wasn't used in a church, it was told in normal conversation.

Wow! thank you, I know there has to be more people who have heard this. If this girl was suppose to be the 12th to have this happen, then we know there's at least 11 more somewhere. I wonder where she was. And did you notice the date, April 2009. Why was this happening at that time, Easter was drawing close along with all the Jewish Feast. If the angel's lips are on the horn, how much longer will it be? Thank you for your find.

Thank goodness I don't treat the Gospels this way. I wasn't there to speak to Jesus but I believe what the Bible says about him. Faith is believing what you can't see sometimes. You don't have to believe. It's not posted to make others believe. It's posted to see how many other people have heard of similar situations.

Re: A hitchhiker said "The lips are on the horn"
I heard a caller to a radio program last fall state that her sister was a city bus driver in Fort Myers, Florida. She passed a man on a corner (not at a bus stop) and felt a sudden urge to pick him up. Because he wasn't at a bus stop, she suppressed the urge and passed him. The urge to pick him up intensified so she made the block and came back around. The man was still standing there so she stopped and let him on the bus.

He didn't speak to her or take a seat, rather he stood right behind the driver's seat which made her feel uncomfortable. After standing there for a moment, he finally spoke up and said the Lord had a message for her. The message was this: "The trumpet is up to Gabriel's lips". As soon as he said this, he vanished.

I have heard other accounts of this as well and because they all seem so similar, it is easy to discount them as an "urban legend". They may be. I haven't had anything like this happen to me so I can't state from first-hand knowledge. However, I believe the Trumpet IS up to Gabriel's Lips so maybe this story, or true account (whichever it turns out to be) is meant primarily to get us all ready to go HOME!

Even so, Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Thank you, that is what I was wanting to hear, that others through out this country has heard of similar stories. It seems that it was very popular during the months of March and April of 2009 but I haven't heard of any new accounts. I agree with you, we are in the last days and Jesus is close to returning.

Faith is not "strong believing", Faith comes from evidence of things not seeen.

Most of what is written about faith in religious books miss the mark because the word itself is not understood. In modern English “faith” means believing in something for which there is no substantial proof. But the Greek word pistis, used in the New Testament, means stability in personal knowledge drawn from one’s own experience. It also means to be loyal to that knowledge by living in accordance with it. Pistis also means to be confident in our experiential knowledge. Faith cannot be “awakened” in a person by reading books, listening to discourses, or engaging in discussions. It comes only from within, from his own self. Saint Paul underlined this when he wrote that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”2 Note that he says substance and evidence. Faith is not an insubstantial idea. This is no matter of mere intellectual acceptance or emotional hope. Faith is proof that a person has experienced the reality of something; it is not a mere conviction based on reason or feeling.

I heard from literally dozens of people that the church and it's teachings are designed to steal soveriegnty from individuals who fall for it's lies.

Ironically, if the church was telling the truth about the nature of the universe, its deeds would demonstrate how it, itself, is just a tool of the devil to suck in weak souls.

If a dozen people making veiled references to oral sex with a hitch hiker impress you, how do you feel about my reported "dozens" ?
Has anyone else noticed this elephant in the lounge room ?

So, your friend heard it from the person it happened to?

Or your friend heard it from another friend who knows the woman?

Either way, as you can see by the snopes article above, chances are - and logic suggests - this is nothing but an urban legend.

If you are so near in the chain to the person it actually happened to, then it is easy for you to get the contact details of the woman whom it happened to. Only then, by meeting her and hearing the details from her mouth, will you know. You will be able to tell if she is BSing too by looking in her eyes and hearing her out.

But I am willing to bet the farm that you simply will not be able to get in contact with the woman. Because when you press your friend for details of whom it actually happened to, the woman will grow ever more distant until you realize she doesn't actually exist.
