Barack Obama Sends Nuclear Experts to Tackle BP's Gulf of Mexico Oil Leak The US has sent a team of nuclear physicists to help BP plug the "catastrophic" flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico from its leaking Deepwater Horizon well, as the Obama administration becomes frustrated with the oil giant's inability to control the situation.... The five-man team – which includes a man who helped develop the first hydrogen bomb in the 1950s – is the brainchild of Steven Chu, President Obama's Energy Secretary. He has charged the men with finding solutions to stop the flow of oil... Pressed further about the meeting, he said they had "come up with one good idea" but declined to elaborate. The five include 82-year-old Richard Garwin, who designed the first hydrogen bomb, and Tom Hunter, head of the US Department of Energy's Sandia National Labs. In addition, Mr Chu has already despatched Marcia McNutt, the head of the US Geological Service, to the oil company. [link to www.telegraph.co.uk] |

The zero-speed seawater will rapidly peel off the outside periphery of the flow, obscuring the inner core of high velocity fluids. The outer layer would billow, look gentle even. Anonymous Coward User ID: 607554 United States 05/14/2010 09:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Plans B, C, D, E and F”? Okay...this seems like a "Yikes!" moment... Obama Sends Bomb, Mars Experts to Fix BP Oil Spill May 14 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu signaled his lack of confidence in the industry experts trying to control BP Plc’s leaking oil well by hand-picking a team of scientists with reputations for creative problem solving. Dispatched to Houston by President Barack Obama to deal with the crisis, Chu said Wednesday that five “extraordinarily intelligent” scientists from around the country will help BP and industry experts think of back-up plans to cut off oil from the well, leaking 5,000 feet (1,500 meters) below sea-level. Members of the Chu team are credited with accomplishments including designing the first hydrogen bomb, inventing techniques for mining on Mars and finding a way to precisely position biomedical needles. “I don’t think there is a lot of confidence in BP in Washington right now,” David Pursell, a managing director at Tudor Pickering Holt & Co. LLC in Houston, said by phone. Chu’s decision to bring in additional scientists may reflect that concern, he said. BP’s effort to use robots on the seafloor to close off the well failed, and a 40-foot steel structure meant to cap the leak was scuttled when the containment box became clogged with an icy slush of seawater and gas. BP now is deliberating between using a smaller containment chamber to control the well or inserting a tube directly into the leaking pipe to channel the oil. Chu said he’s tasked his team to develop “plan B, C, D, E and F” in addition to finding a way to stop the oil leak. “Things are looking up, and things are getting much more optimistic,” the Nobel-prize winning physicist said after meeting with the scientists and BP in Houston Wednesday... There is no where near 10's of thousands of PSI in this thing IMO...but there doesn't need to be.....a 4" dia pipe at 1,500 PSI can flow 10,000 gallons a minute...that's a decent sized swimming pool filled in a minute...with a 4" pipe....everything here is far larger...and there is also more pressure too...but not 165k PSI...lol...that's retarded... Last I read from a real source said the pressure spiked to 3500 PSI in the well string...now if that was down low at the well...and it rose up with trapped gas?....well it would expanded immensly....in order of over 100X it's volume...that is going to create some incredibly high pressures... ____________________________________________________ E-mail anytime [email protected] Inquiring about a ban?, include the IP address found here. Anonymous Coward User ID: 898188 United States 05/14/2010 09:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | [link to www.dinoextinct.com] This guy's theory is that the release methane disassociating from hydrates caused previous extinction events! THE RELEASE OF METHANE FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA/OCEAN This is the most likely cause of the extinctions at the P-T transition. Methane, contained in methane hydrates at the bottom of the sea/ocean is held in a solid crystalline state by the combination of low temperature and high pressure of the overlying water. By studying what scientists call the “carbon isotope change”, which was massive during the P-T transition, it has been widely accepted that the only explanation for the magnitude of this change is the disassociation of methane from these hydrates. Carbon isotope analysis is a complex subject but it can be summarized as follows. There are three naturally occurring isotopes of Carbon: Carbon-12, Carbon-13 and Carbon-14. Carbon-14 is a radioactive isotope which is used to date material up to 100,000 years old but it is not relevant here. Only the non-radioactive Carbon-12 and Carbon-13 are involved. Scientists study the change in the ratio of C13 to C12 in various environments, both terrestrial and marine. They use a measurement referred to as “delta 13C” to keep track of changes in the ratio. Delta 13C is defined mathematically as: Delta 13C is therefore the percentage change of the ratio of C13 to C12 in a sample material to that in a standard (times 1000). The “Delta” in Delta 13C is often written as the Greek letter . In mathematical notation, that letter denotes a change in some quantity. It turns out that during periods when biotic activity substantially declines, as in extinction periods, the value of delta 13C in the atmosphere and oceans shows a large negative increase. This is called a negative delta 13C spike. The following is a representation of the delta 13C from the late Permian through the early Triassic Periods in a marine location. |

Scared in Louisiana User ID: 607554 United States 05/14/2010 09:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The JASON Society, or JASON Scholars, takes its name from the story of Jason and the Golden Fleece, and it is a branch of the Order of the Quest, one of the highest degrees in the Illuminati. The golden fleece takes on the role of truth to the JASON members. Jason represents the search for truth. Therefore the name JASON Society denotes a group of men who are engaged in a search for the truth. The name Jason is spelled with capital letters when used as the name of the JASON Society. Lower-case letters are never used when referring to this secret group. The name may even have deeper meaning, as the name "Jason" and the Golden Fleece appear throughout history in relation to various other secret societies. In these instances the story represents man (Jason) looking for himself (Golden Fleece). Top Secret documents that I read while with the Naval Intelligence stated that President Eisenhower had commissioned the JASON Society to examine all of the evidence, facts, lies, and deception and find the truth of the alien question. Founders of the JASON Group (not the same as JASON Society) include members of the famous Manhattan Project, which brought together almost every leading physicist in the nation to build the atomic bomb during World War II. The group is made up mostly of theoretical physicists and is the most elite gathering of scientific minds in the United States. As of 1987 the membership included four Nobel Prize winners. Today JASON continues to offer scientific help the government cannot find anywhere else. They are probably the only group of scientists in the United States that know the true state of highest technology. JASON is shrouded in what appears to be unnecessary secrecy. The group refuses to release its membership list, none of the members list JASON membership on there official resumes. Working completely behind the scenes, JASON has guided the nation's most important security decisions. These include, but are not limited to, Star Wars, Submarine Warfare, and predictions about the greenhouse effect. The JASON members are paid $500.00 per-day consultant's fee. In the documents that I read while with Naval Intelligence the JASONS predicted that the greenhouse effect would lead ultimately to an ICE AGE. According to the Pentagon, the JASONS hold the highest and most restrictive security clearances in the nation. They are given the protocol rank of rear admiral (two stars) when they visit of travel aboard ships or visit military bases. The only other reference to the JASON group that I have been able to find is in the Pentagon Papers. The papers stated that JASON was responsible for designing the electronic barrier between North and South Vietnam War. I was stationed on the DMZ and I can tell you it did not work.
